No change to tobacco tax. Good news for smokers and vapers alike though there's even better news for beer, cider and whisky drinkers.

Not sure, but funny how there is no change in tax in the run up to the General Election. Anyone would think they're after a few votes come May...

I was impressed that it was a reasonably balanced budget that didn't seem to want to act as a bribe to the electorate. No surprises in there, just stuff we already knew was coming anyway such as a rise in personal allowances.

I suppose it depends on how you want to look at it though. Tory voters will like it because it doesn't take any risks, labour voters will complain it doesn't go far enough.
