Matt Ridley did a Times article which has been tweeted a lot and linked on FB. It's behind a paywall though so you need to subscribe.
This article in his blog appears to be the same piece but I could be wrong as he links to the Times as well.
Anyhow it's here, it's free and a good read from a sensible man.
