What's new

Measuring amps.

We all make mistakes. I've done some pretty dim things :).

(idiot :p)

I've been reading up for quite a while now but you guys have confirmed things that books and webpages seem to assume you know. They seem to word it as you already know more than you do, which in my case with my limited brain capacity, isn't very much
Much appreciation to you all who have helped. ;-)

I've tried reading up on electrical jiggery-pokery and I've discovered that they assume I can actually remember all the shit I've been taught 30+ years ago when I was sat in the college classes so drunk it was a miracle I didn't just fall over.I have since decided that the internet NEEDS clear diagrams(as posted earlier in this thread)and people that can do basic maths,or I simply wire things up and very gingerly hit the fire buttons for a fraction of a second whilst holding the components I'm unsure about and if it gets even slightly warm, cease & try find the problem. This is why I have a collection of buggered switches(melted internals)and NOW copy others ideas(clones? :P)even down to buying the hardware from the same companies.

I've also discovered that Mouser.com (sellers of the NAOS Raptor) want £12.65 per item, then £12 for fucking delivery! That has to be the biggest fucking rip-off ever for P&P,as the Raptor would likely fit in a matchbox sized padded envelope and get here with a 1st class fucking stamp on it.

I noticed that too Chegs.
My next conundrum is which wire to use for connecting the positive battery connection to the 510 and the negative to the mosfet and mosftet to 510.
I've got some auto 16AWG which should be good enough to get the current I want but any advice would be good from anyone out there.

Mouser and digikey are both based in the US. If you buy US stock from farnell they charge you an extra 15 quid for the privilege too.

I've been spending the last 3 days going through the Farnell site. I've only just managed to get my supplies ordered half an hour ago dodging us stock.

doobedoobedo Seedy

Is there anywhere in the UK to buy items such as the Raptor?

If not,you guys fancy organising a group buy?

(Just checked,orders over £50 qualify for free delivery)So,only need order 4-5 Raptors & it's a result :) )

I already have a raptor, I've not used it yet though.

I did a mini group buy from digikey on another site. Prices on digikey and mouser are ex-VAT so don't forget to add that to the price, they will add it when you go to check out.
