Try twisting your 0.2 together like rope, then make your coil.
I had the same problem and got 6 wraps at 1.4 ohms.
That is doubled over and twisted tight enough not to unravell.

I'm still faffing about with 0.2.Ive got some 0.28 ordered. I'll get the resistance down when that turns up :-)

I don't use anything other than .2 kanthal. I just do a 3/2 wrap round my wicks.
Maybe my twisted logic but doesn't more wraps mean more vapour? This is why I'm going to try thicker kanthal or twisted 0.2
Not necessarily, it is a mixture of things, more wraps can mean longer time to heat up, depending on gauge of wire/ribbon used
VG in e-liquids give the vapour, PG the throat hit
Personally I prefer 50PG/50VG and 0.2 kanthal 4 wraps, gives me a 1.5ohm coil... the vapour and throat produced suit me
PSST dont use ICR in the mech either
Been using an ICR for about 4 months in a mech with no drama......just saying
Until the short happens, and when it happens it will "happen"!!!
Stay safe
Use imr
