Hi everyone, so I've been vaping for just over 2 years now and I wouldn't mind trying out a mech tube. I'm confident in my knowledge of Ohms law and batteries and battery safety but I'm just wondering if there's anything else you may think is valuable knowledge or some valuable tips that I could do with knowing? Thanks in advance.

Avoid hybrids to start with, and try to find one with an inset fire button that won't fire if you stand it up.

If you don't mind the huge girth then go for a 21700 for the extra capacity.

Clean it regularly. Easy for rubbish to build up on contacts and even the body causing damage.

Are there any tubes that take a 21700 that you would recommend? I've been looking at the Kennedy Vindicator and the Timesvape Dreamer but they're both hybrids, I would like those but not yet.

Yeah, I know maintenance is very important when using any mech mod so I'm going to watch some more videos and find as much information as I can about how to do so properly.

Ideally, find one that is internally insulated. Always build on a regulated mod or an ohms reader before transferring your rda over to the mech.

Yeah, I've seen that The Vaping Bogan's Bonza kit has those sleeves inside. I would choose that but it's a hybrid and apparently the switch is a bit finicky.

I thought it was going to be easy to point to a few non-hybrid, lined mechs but it quickly became apparent they are like hens teeth these days. I looked through my collection and I only have 3 that meet all the criteria and none of them are readily available other than the Broadside and for an authentic you are talking north of $100

Clone available here, but I can't speak to their quality.

There are a few options that present themselves, either a 2x700 and use an 18650 adapter to provide protection like the NATO but it's a bit of a tippy bugger because of the bottom cutout (clones available from the usual Chinese outlets),

Contemplate a lined hybrid like the DEJAVU Mecha and be aware of the requirement for a protruding, fixed 510 (which you really should be doing anyway)

Or the Mage v2 stacked, you don't need to run it stacked and it has a liner, again the hybrid compromise.

Good luck with your search and keep us updated :D
