I’m having difficulties when i add my 18mg to my juice then fill up my vape and go to puff it tastes awful and nasty like burny im now looking to buy the smok thallo any advice with the nic shots and mixing techniques thanks

Wow sorry but can’t read that it’s hurting my eyes! Welcome but please try to stick to black and white text.

I only go 3mg as I'm dripping and high wattage, so two bottles of nic per 100ml.

I ALWAYS put my 100 ml and nic shot bottles in hot water, not boiling, to thin them, the warmth makes 70/30 juice thin for a while.
After 15 mins or so, I add the nic shots, mix with the handle of a teaspoon then shake them vigorously for 2 mins.

Maybe you're not allowing the nic to mix correctly with the base?

I used to chuck in the nic and a brief shake, then off I went.
Juice was either nic free till the last 20 odd ml, then it blew me away in a frantic coughing fit?!

After adding the nic shot you just shake the hell out of it for a couple of mins and then let it settle. Some flavours may need some steeping for a few weeks for the flavour to come out. Usually fruit flavours are good to go almost immediately.

When you add your nic shots you are leaving it for awhile to settle, with fruity flavours I leave for a minimum 24 hours before testing & custard flavours anywhere between 1 & 3 months, you say after you added the nic it tastes burny ? are you getting a peppery taste as well if so the nic shots have gone off.

Sounds like your nic shot isn't mixed in properly. As Puffed Daddy does, I warm the shortfill first before adding the nic. It makes everything thinner. I then shake the fuck out of it until my arm hurts. I like to see the liquid in the bottle full of bubbles, almost like foam. Then leave for a day or two to settle (sometimes if I'm feeling a bit OCD I'll give it another shake), and it's generally good to go.

i wouldn’t shake it too much. stir gently to mix it then leave it for a while, before puffing.

nic can also go off. that would be a possibility.

Hi @FreeMind94 and welcome to the planet.

as said, after adding a nic shot and shaking the hell out of it for a good few minutes i then leave for 24 hours to settle.
cheap juice usually needs a good steep so leaving it for a few days to a few weeks and desert flavours even longer. premium juice is usually pree steeped so after adding nic it should be good to go after 24 hours.

what juice you using and what is the vg/pg ratio, what make nic shots and where did you buy from.
tasting nasty and burny is usually the coil burnt out. what mod and tank are you using and what coil and wattage are you running at.
a new coil needs a burn in at a much lower wattage to start with. drip juice on cotton around coil and start at least half of what you vape at. so if you vape at 50watts start at 25watts and turn up a watt every few puffs. going straight in at high wattage is the easiest way to burn a coil out straight away.

I have an habit of giving my juice a shake every time i am about to use it, i don't know why it's probably mixed ok after my first vigorous shake.

Why is nobody considering that it might taste burny because the wick is being burnt for the usual reasons of of not being primed properly or juice too thick for the coil, or power too high?

Does poorly mixed juice taste burny ?
I have never come across this.

Thanks @MrDJ beat me to it.
