Mini box mod?

You could try upping the wattage a little at a time (0.5W) to see if that improves things. At the first hint of heat or burning STOP. A narrower drip tip will help to focus the vapour, it`s trial and error until you find something which works for you.

I’ve no experience with the Innokin tanks, but I suspect you might find the 1.6 ohm coil better.

As @Leni has said, with that tank the 1.6 coil will give you a tighter draw and more of a throat hit, judging by that pic you might want to tighten the airflow too, that's pretty loose.

If you check out the available coils for that tank, there are others you could try too. In particular, the 1 ohm coil (on the right) seems to be suggested for use between 20-25w, so it could be a bit closer to your other tank. I think you’re going to need to experiment a bit.

Thanks a lot for the advice guys.

gardenvalley - I did try this, managed to get to 22w with the plexi coil and it didnt make much of a difference. Hopefully the other coils i try will fare better.

Leni - ll give the 1.6 coil a try, see if it makes a difference. Thanks for that table, i didnt even know they did a 1.0hm coil.

It's funny as this coil seems to be the only coil that is hard to get in the uk. I did manage to find one suppier and i've ordered a pack to give them a try.

Do you know why they seem to be hard to get hold of..maybe another part that is being discontinued?

ForestMagpie - I thought the airflow needed to be more open than closed for a better throat hit. Should it be more closed like you say?

I think i will eventually find the right combination that is readily available, even if it means changing the whole set up a few times.

Would you guys suggest that it's mainly the choice of coil that is causing the problem, rather than the tank and mod itself? Or do some tanks (and their own version of the 1.0ohm coil) perform differently? If that makes sense lol

Hi @Kevbush , if you decrease the airflow you will increase the throat hit. More air in the vape cools the vapour and produces less of a throat hit. If you tighten the airflow you'll get a bit better throat hit. I use a Zlide tank (well 3 actually ha ha) which also takes the z-coils like the Zenith and I have only one hole showing on the airflow it gives a good throat hit, I sometimes virtually shut that if I want it really tight!
It's a number of factors really, the coil will make a difference, the airflow will and different tanks will have different hits, it's all about finding a balance that suits you. Other things which will help get a better throat hit are to up the nic level or up the PG ratio of liquid you use.

Well, this thread has been handy!

After perusing the Mesh and Genesis atty forum, I remembered that I had a Pandora Shadow in the cupboard but I've really got nothing to put it on that won't look ridiculous.

So, after reading this thread, I've now ordered an ELeaf Baby for about £15 and an Aspire K1 Stealth Kit for £15.

Looking forward to making myself angry again with building on a genny! :18:
