Minor health question - throaty cough & gunk

Well that's weird. I came on here to ask the same question, I'm at the 11 week marker of switching to vaping and I've got the same symptoms. I'm glad to hear it seems to be a common occurrence. Thanks for the reassurance!

I had the same at around the 10 week mark, it felt as though I always had phlegm (had to use spell check :wanker: ) at the top of my throat and was coughing up clear mucus. I've been vaping for nearly 5 months now and still occasionally get it but it don't cause me any problems. It's better than the plasticine looking crap I used to cough up while smoking 50 a day.

I've only been vaping 15 days now and find that my voice has changed a little, sounding more throaty now when I talk as though I have a slight throaty cough or cold. Vaping has changed my voice...lol

Drink more water :) seriously double your intake of water from when you were smoking :)

Water will help flush out all the gross stuff from smoking...

Oh and one of the little talked about new "side effects" your wee will smell weird :P but its a couple of things, dehydration AND the flavour concentrates ;)

KurlMeStoopid, I drink tea and coffee virtually 24/7, does that count, or do I need strictly water? (hate drinking pure water!!)

water is better, maybe throw a couple lemons into a pitcher of water in the fridge and have 1 or 2?

Hope it goes away soon Citrus The wife packed it in using the tablets, she had been told by her doctor and I was told by one of my cardiac nurses that it usually comes out around the three month period. Some people will suffer with it and others do not. One of the things that can cause it is how hard you inhalled the smoke on to your lungs. My sister for example gave it up a few years ago and suffered with all sorts of health problems as well as acne, if you can stick with it and as people have suggested drink plenty of water, that will help, also try and eat plenty of fruit such as grapes, they have some great detox properties.

Water is indeed better, but pretty much any drink apart from alcoholic ones (alcohol is a diuretic) will help. I also drink about eleventy coffees a day though I usually manage about a litre of fruit juice now as well which is a great alternative if you can't stand water.
