mixing questions

Can anyone help a mixing newbie with a couple of questions about mixing ?

It looks like i prefer my mix VG heavy (not really keen on big throat hit) So im planning to mix around the 60-40 or 70-30 range & just have a few questions regarding this.......forgive me if there is a thread asking this (I did check & I couldnt find one)
The VG ive got just as a first attempt is from Boots & as you all know is really thick so im guessing I need to thin it down with either distilled water or vodka, but if im adding flavour which will more than likely be PG based & from what ive read needs to be alot if the mix is VG heavy....plus the nicotine (which will also be pg based)...... will that be enough to to thin it down without using the water or vodka ?
Also If I do need to thin the VG down can I just use the water or vodka...or is it better to add PG ? (ive read it helps with the flavourings?)
If this mixing works for me I was thinking about buying a 5ltr bottle from here.... Vegetable Glycerine cattle bovine food additive | Astor & Windsor ....Has anyone used them?.....I cant work out if its 99.5% or 99.8% from those data sheets :-/
Also (stupid question alert!)...whats the difference between using 50mg nicotine & 72mg nicotine ? does it just mean you use less because its stronger so it kinda saves money in the long run ?....Id want to make around 12mg mixes & yes i'll be using the calculator ;-)
With regards to mixing bottles....is it better to use glass ones or plastic ?....Im sure i read somewhere that the plastic can leech into the fluid ??.....(thats the problem with reading so much on the net, theres alot of b/s & you have to use logic & your common sense & work out whats right & wrong, but ive heard about some plastics leeching into fluids before!)

Another quick question I have is about the amounts, If im using a syringe & blunt needle & measure out 1 or 2ml of any liquid.....what about the fluid in the needle?....wouldnt it end up being 1.1ml or 2.1ml ?....or am i just being anal & it wont matter ?

plastic's bottles are fine
no real need to add water if your doin 60/40 ..wont do any harm though ...basically the thinner the liquid the better the concentrates work/mix...i'm all vg (cept flavours)..just added 10% water in the hope my custard steeps quicker.
didnt look at the link..but i'd steer (see what i did there)clear of anything involving farm animals.
Most folk use boots stuff.me included.
Yes 72 is a more concentrated mix
Yes your being anal....as most of us are :-)

I never thin my VG down but tend to mix at 50/50.
