Just tried my first batch of vanilla custard and although it's nice and creamy tasting there's not much vanilla coming through. I made it on monday and gave it about 8 x 480 second cycles in the ultrasonic cleaner and so far 5 days in the cupboard. I used a 52mg PG nic base, 15% Capella VC, 2% DDL and 10 drops of EM in a 10 ml 50/50 mix. Do I need to increase the VC, decrease the EM of just blast it in the Ultrasonic again, or leave it to steep a bit longer?

If I wanted to add gingerbread flavouring to it what kind of levels should I be looking at?

Thanks in advance

Some PA French Vanilla Deluxe makes a big difference to a Custard mix.
My Own recipe
VC 17%
FVD 5%
EM 2%
DDL 2%

not sure how quicker steeping the Ultrasonic makes, but i leave it for 4 weeks minimum, it will go a deep amber colour

I was trying a recommended GVC recipe, thanks for the advice though. Have upped the VC and lowered the EM on my latest brew so I'll see what that comes out like.

I have tried multiple ratios of VC, DDL and EM and tbh nothing comes near GVC. The FVD does make it nicer but its upto you, (its not the thread on UKVapers is it?)
Regarding adding Gingerbread, start small then add some more if its needed, maybe 3% as a starter?
Good luck!
Also its best imo to try some 5ml samples before u make a big brew, and if u do multiple ratios/mixes, u will find one you will like best.

Don't use PA French Vanilla Deluxe - it has diacetyl in it and diacetyl is linked to potential health problems. See this page on PA.

PA French Vanilla (not deluxe) is the same flavour without the diacetyl/acetoin compounds in it.

It's worth pointing out that PA are talking about very very small amounts of diacetyl in these flavour compounds (a couple of percent, which when diluted into an e-liquid is going to be a trace amount) but it's likely that lung damage from compounds like these would be cumulative and take a long time to happen, so there's almost certainly no short term problems from vaping a little. If something with acetoin/diacetyl in it was your all day vape and you used it for years then you might well run into problems.

Basically don't worry about using up what you have already, but I'd avoid getting more of it next time you order.

If your custard is lacking vanilla notes then it probably could do with a longer steep, if it's not a dark orangey colour it definitely needs more steep. I'd add a n other vanilla flavour at about 5% probably as well.

For gingerbread, (or any other flavour that could well overpower the end mix) use small moves. Split out a few ml for test and add in 2% - steep a while and give it a spin, if you need to add more add more (you can't take it out) rinse/repeat. Eventually you'll get to a recipe that's great for you.
