more sub ohm newbie advice please

hi,so ive got the hang of DTL and find it preferable.so im going to stick with my sub ohm vapouritz vbox 40w.
However theres something thats doing my head in.

Whenever i leave it for any length of time and go to use it.the first few minutes im coughing and spluttering all over the place an the things crackling an popping. after this initial unenjoyable phase its smooth and the vapes coming thick and fast an i could chug forever without coughing. im imagining the coils so soaked at first after sitting its causing this? i know im new to this ,but surely it shouldnt be like this?

Doesnt matter what ive tried various high VG ,50/50, nic 6mg-10mg.Even a 3mg 80%vg. airfow open /closed (opens best) coils look fine.what gives?

Try blowing on the first couple of vapes, helps to burn off excess liquid on the coils. The spitting & crackling is that excess boiling away when you fire & you're inhaling.

Yes. Some vapers do it before inhaling. Called purging as it clears juice off the coils.

lol that was a bit of a shower but made no difference .after few blows stil coughing each time i inhale.no crackle pop tho,tiny bit better

may be my throat an lungs are still bit sensitive,ive only been trying a few days?. smooth once ive got past the first cpl mins
