mosfet gate resistor value

Does anyone have a handy formula for calculating the gate resistor to use on an n channel mosfet?

It really doesn't matter that much at all. The resistors sole purpose is to allow the gate capacitance to discharge when you stop firing.

Just use whatever you have handy. The 15K that everyone recommends is reasonable.

Thank you. That explains it perfectly. You have also guessed my situation, I only have 10k and 20k left and didn't want to buy a strip of 15k for just one mod. Thanks again for the reply.
