What's new

Mount Baker now at Chefs Vapour

I'll mix at 20% and tell you how it is if you want? Where you the person who struggles tasting juice?

No not me with the taste problem but can't think of who it was either. It will be worth comparing notes on percentages I think though.

Hmm... I was sure it was you.

Well I ordered Hawk sauce as well, so I'll mix at 20% and tell you how it is when it arrives.

These sound a bit weak if it is indeed 15-40%

Think i'll sit back and wait for feedback on these, don't want to be making an expensive mistake.

Might have been me!

Nope, definitely not. Might of been someone with Lew in there name. They made a thread saying something along the lines of 'overpriced or subtle'.

Edit: Was thinking of Big Kev .

It was me alright, but now I've found that T Juice concentrates are pretty good for me and I've also tried some Chef's Vapour concentrates and have used more than the recommended % to get as much flavour as possible. I went a bit OTT and mixed over 800ml last weekend.

I am thinking of purchasing Cinnamon Roll, Hawk Sauce, Udderly Nuts, Johnny Chimpo and Blue Moo and just chatted with Mount Baker who said "I would suggest starting out with 15% or the bottle then gradually make it strong as needed. Taste is really subjective so there is not a definite answer I can give you". I'll probably order some tonight and give them a go then.

It is a pity they don't give discount codes anymore though.

Yeah, I contacted them and they said the same thing as they said to you. I'll be interested in your experience with it, if you try it.

I also sent them an email and received this reply, which is rather different:

We recommend mixing anywhere from 15-35% flavoring based on your preference. I personally like to mix at about 20% but it's always good to start low, allow steeping time, then add more flavoring in small quantities to your liking. I hope this information has been helpful and please let us know if you have any other questions, comments, or concerns.

Not that strong then methinks, although I still may get some and mix them at 25% to start with.
