MTL mod/pod?

Another vote for the klypse from me. Loads of folk seem to like the caliburn g2 also.

If you're going the tank route, I'd recommend mesh coils as they seem to produce the best flavour. Personally I've been impressed with the fireluke (kindly donated to me by @ForestMagpie) and the nicolas 2 by vapefly.

congrats on the 4 weeks @whirlybird

Ive ony got 1 mtl kit out of the 50 kits ive got so im not best to advise on mtl but ets see if the pod queen can help @DeeDee aka (Pod Queen)

shortfill were mainly brought in to get around the 10ml tpd law as zero nicotine can be sold in any size bottle.
just for example a 50ml zero in a 60ml bottle. add 1 18mg nic shot and it makes the final mix of 60ml at 3mg nic strength. for higher nic it gets a bit iffy as the more nic shots you add it will weaken the overall flavour. also if you wanted 6mg nic strength then you need to add 2 18mg nic shots but then the bottle is not big enough so you will have to decant 10ml of zero to make space.
it also works with nic salts but the final strength of a 20mg nic salt added to a shortfill will be just over 3mg strength.

there are so many suppliers out there and some can be a bit dodgy or not comply with the distance selling act (or whatever its called now) so thats why i have this trusted list which has been used by members for the pat 7 years. post 5 has our trusted hardware suppliers POTV Vendors & Recommended E Liquid Suppliers

Thanks for the explanation of shortfills Mr DJ, if I'm understanding you right, I think I probably need to make the drop to 10mg nic salts and get comfortable there before it makes sense to move over to shortfills? Otherwise I need to add so many shots that I'll dilute the flavour too much, yes?

Thanks also for your excellent list - I've already made good use of it and found a few new-to-me vendors. It's certainly a reassuring list for newbs like me

Hi and welcome

I don't think im currently the best person as there are many new kits on the market and as i no longer review i have no idea if whats out and what may work better

@ForestMagpie @Vapaneezer Scrooge @red5

Are all reviewers and maybe better equipped to help
Also @rew is a mtl vaper and a gardener, he may be able to share some wisdom

Sorry, im also just not in the right headspace currently to help.

No need to apologise Dee. You and all of the other forum experts spend a lot of your free time helping us novices out and you all put so much effort into keeping us right. It's very much appreciated, and I hope that things get better for you soon.

Shortfills and 20mg nicotine don't go together thanks to TPD so you're left with either 10ml bottles or maybe mix your own juice. Based on what you are looking for I'd say a mod and tank would be your best bet, look for one that is dustproof, shock resistant and waterproof, an IP rating is the best guide to that. e.g. The Innokin Adept Zlide kit has an IP67 rating, the maximum rating is iirc 88.

Ah, good advice, thank you! I wasn't aware of the IP ratings, so I will pay attention to those now.

Personally I would go the separate mod and tank route. Unfortunately it is probably the most expensive way to do it but I wouldn't be too confident about the longevity of most simple pod mods if you pocket them while doing manual work.

I'd go for a rugged single 18650 mod like the Geekvape Aegis Solo or Vaporesso Forz (there is also in internal lipo Geekvape Aegis Mini), all are reliable and are dropping in price now they've been around for a while but you will need to shop around online to get the best deal..

Unfortunately I'm way behind the times when it comes to stock coil tanks but I'm sure others can advise. Personally I wouldn't trust a pod tank that slots directly into the top of a mod if you're working outdoors in summer heat. I think it's a recipe for leaky coils and a fried board because of juice getting into the mod. If a regular tank leaks the juice may make your pocket wet but it wont get inside the mod, but the downside is if you drop it you may break the glass.... I could be way off the mark on this one but I don't trust pod mods not to piss juice.

Oh, you see, it wouldn't even have occurred to me that there might be an issue with the pod mods. That's a very good point regarding the potential hazards of leakage, so I think I'll look at mods and tanks, especially the ones you mentioned.

As said above the Innokin Adept Zlide is a good strong kit and uses the Zcoil range and give good flavour and last a good length of time a good MTL kit.
And welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the recommendation and welcome!

I use a belt pouch when doing my gardening work.

There's no room on my belt for any more pouches! As it is, I've got secateurs and multi tool on one side, and hori-hori and pocket knife on the other!! Luckily I was in charge of sourcing our uniform, so our work trousers have plenty of perfectly placed pockets!,

if you're looking at the Klypse, give some serious consideration to the Caliburn G2 as well. You can change the airflow, the coils are replaceable, it charges in about 25 minutes, doesn't leak, and the coils give excellent flavour. I have the Klypse and Caliburn G2, and would recommend the G2 over the Klypse.
