What's new

My Name is LEGION - For we are many

Almost certainly then, I worked in most of them as the dancer. I had a large guest list for GC too and I am a hardhouse DJ.

I also was the person who spiked the first people who later became shiny kids and ruined clubbing for all of us.. Lol. The intention was for them to be original but too many followed suit

Brilliant! I used to know Karim and Johnny RR Fierce (RIP) really well, was big mates with Superfast Oz and Max Alien Trax. Knew Paul Glazby, Simon Eve and Nick Sentience well too. If you remember the scandal of Rock The Spot by RR Fierce being released on bootleg after he died, that was me and Karim. Dark days they were when we lost Johnny :(

Lol Glaz is a friend and it sounds like we travelled in similar circles too and I guess our taste in hard house are not all that dissimilar too judging by your friends list.

I still try and fit Miloude into a set whenever I play, my absolute fave RR Fierce track. Alas I don't play out that often these days, vinyl is dying out and I refuse to be another button pushing auto sync CD DJ when everything I loved about mixing was the manual skill required

Haven't seen him for years, I kind of fell out of that scene after Johnny died. Me and Karim had a big bust-up over that bootleg record when he fucked off leaving me with a living room full of about 1000 copies to shift, which I did. Then I had Simon Eve and the MD of Recharge were looking for me because they actually owned Rock The Spot, Johnny had sold it to them for a few hundred quid before he died, and they wanted my head on a spike for the bootleg. It was awful, threatening messages on my phone and everything. What they didn't work out was all of the money from the sale of the record was for Johnny's missus, I had to meet Simon in a pub and set him straight. Couldn't believe they thought we were trying to make money off of it, Johnny was our mate. The whole scene just wasn't the same for me after that.
I'll never forget Glazby at Johnny's funeral, he took it really badly I think, they were good mates. Tragic, Johnny was really starting to get somewhere too after he hooked up with Glazby and he started putting out Johnny's stuff on Vicious Circle.
Start Rockin' was always my favourite RR tune. Me and my then boyfriend worked at Cyberdog and he was in charge of the music section, it was us that got Johnny to do the Cyberdog cd :)

Yep I wasn't there long though, about 4 months. I got made redundant from my previous job so started there as Christmas staff. My then-boyfriend worked there for two or three years though part time while he was at Uni so I did hang around there a lot.

Spank! Their stuff was always good I thought. And Jupiter, do you remember them? They were in Camden Market. Their stuff was the best but the bloke packed it in because he was emigrating or something.

Yep remember Jupiter!

I was gutted when the Spank shop closed ... but they still do online.

the rest of camden just all sells the sane thing these days

Spank did have a stall at a goth fest I went to a few years ago (Dark Mills)

I can't say I've been to Camden for a long time to be honest, all the interesting stalls and shops seemed to close and everything else was all the same, like you say. There used to be a great stall run by this Japanese girl round the corner from the Cyberdog shop I used to get a lot of stuff from.

Even Cyberdog is shit when you go into it now. It was bad enough when I was there, they used to be really innovative but they just started churning shit out for the cyber-ravers but in the late 90's their stuff was great, if you could fit into it!

Yeah it does weigh in on the small side!

tho .. for the first time in years I can fit into one of my old CD tops ... from before it went shit.

it has to be said as well .. the quality of the stuff has suffered .. its expensive .. and it doesnt last .

its what I like about spank .. really well made stuff

Yes that was the thing, it became horrible quality! Thing was though they made a fortune from tourists who thought the shop was amazing, which it was in fairness, so they jacked up the prices to rinse the tourist trade. The guy who used to sell the flashing t-shirts at the back of the shop was given free reign to make up the prices on the spot depending on who he was serving to get as much money out of them as he could. He regularly used to get £200+ for a flashing t-shirt from unsuspecting tourists!
