My scathing review of popular flavourings (mainly Capella) for the fussy

Hmm, but that link says 'food grade' and I like what @Gilliandrea says about not using food grade. Although I doubt this is my problem as I've vaped my VG straight and it has no flavour at all.

No one wants to let me take the taste test challenge then :(

What brand VG and PG are you using? Unless I missed it?

I seem to mix totally different. Don't know if it's beneficial, but works for me..
I like 50/50, and know flavours mix better in pg.
I put flavour, nic and pg, that's the 50 pg done.
Then I steep it for 4 days, and add the vg.
4 days later, it's vape time.

Yeah you missed it, lol. I get Dr Oetker from Tesco (or any supermarket) as it was recommended by Grizwald.

But I don't use PG. I have a big 1 litre tub of the stuff I bought from ebay and it has a funny flavour when vaped straight. Not sure if that's PG in general or my PG. So I just left that out, figuring that the flavouring (at 15% say) plus dilutant (deionized water) at 10% would be enough.

I'm a noobie and have the same problem of buying all the wrong flavours I think. I tried pecan pie as I love that but that is pure vomit! I think trial and error is the key. I just hope I can get it right soon as I have what seems like liters of juice I can't vape!

Yeah, it's wierd how so many flavours are not just unlike their intended flavour, but actually resemble bodily fluids. I have recognised piss, shit and vomit in various flavourings! WHY!??

I'd be interested in hearing what made your 'vom' list. Mine is: cap's new york cheese cake, PA dulce de leche, flavor west cinnamon churro and maybe PA bavarian cream

At the moment I'm buying exclusively from Decadent Vapours. Admittedly only tried two flavours so far but they're both good and without any stupid tastes running through them. Gonna order a few more of their pies this week, after which I can confirm if they're better than cappela. Only down side is their range is smaller and more expensive.

Never had any revolting tastes. Some flavours I've liked more or less than I do in food/sweets - funny that though I love cherry, raspberry and apple flavours in sweets, they don't really work for me in e-juice.

I've just started using some PG based food flavourings which are lovely. I did get a cream flavour (a bit of a gamble, as I'm not really a cream fan) - it is VERY creamy. Personally, on first vape, I found it a little sickly ( though that could well just be me), so I've used it very sparingly in a coffee/cinnamon blend, and it works well.

I'm currently vaping the Irish Cream as it comes in a 50/50 16mg, and it's very nice (not quite as good as the Irish Coffee, but still good).

As for blending, I make up my base without flavour (adjusting quantities to result in 50/50 16mg once flavour is added). When I blend, I pop flavours in the bottle and judge largely on smell test on the first attempt, then add the pre-mixed base. I then leave them in a drawer with the lid off and give em a daily squeeze for at least a week.

My main blends are Coffee/Toffee or butterscotch/cinnamon/cream and banana/butterscotch (the latter I tend to mix at 50/50 per flavour). the latter is my favourite ADV.
