Hi, is it possible to use the nautilus aspire mini with the istick vt-40 and if so can any one recommend a good online store to buy the nikkel coils.

Also i am edging to the rebuildable side of things i.e cost of coils, apparently better vape etc. Would the istick vt-40 be capable of this setup. (i have a trident v2 sitting here doing nothing at the moment)

Thanks for any help

Hi and welcome to the Planet.

the nautilus mini cant do nickel and the only coils available are 1.6 or 1.8 BVC (bottom vertical coils)

Aspire Nautilus BVC Coil Head - Accessories

the tank will work perfectly though on the istick40 but cant be used in TC mode.

you will need a subtank as far as i know to use ni200 coils. subtank mini and freemax starre pro are the only 2 tanks ive got that take ni200 coils.

Actually you can get Ni coils for the Nautilus, Vaporshark make them and they are the same size for the full size or mini Nautilus.

Noblevaping do them for £10.99 which is the cheapest I've found genuine in the UK.

really, oh my mistake then. never heard of them before.

heres the link for the OP Nautilus Temperature Sensing Coil (5 Pack) - Aspire - Accessories

Not sure about the wisdom of this. For a start Vapor Shark have this disclaimer *Warning: Use of these coils in a device without a DNA 40 board may damage the coil. I don't know what board the istick has as I don't have one.

The coils are 0.3 ohm. I wouldn't have thought you would get enough airflow through a standard Nauty to turn it into a sub ohm device. I use a modded airflow base on my Nautys , but I'm not sure I'd even want to try sub ohming on that, let alone the much tighter standard airflow. Seems to me to be trying to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear!

If you want to go sub ohm to use the tc, why not just get a sub ohm tank?

Hmmmmm I think the problem you may run into with the istick and smok style of temp control is the lack of wattage /joules control. They tend to fire quite high on the initial burst which may not suit a nautilus. I've had great joy with nickel on a Russian 91 % with the wattage at 18-20 watts and 410f on an rdna so tc definitely can apply to MTL and restricted airflow devices. I think the disclaimer carries over from when vaporshark initially released their dna 40 devices as no other temp control existed.... Also doesn't hurt pushing their own platform!

I use VS Ni coils in all my Nautilus tanks, admittedly most have the modded airflow base but I used them before getting these without problem on a SX M, rDNA 40 and Invader Mini.

Currently I'm using a full size, airflow modded, Nautilus with VS Ni coils on a Smok Kooper Mini and it works really well for MTL.

Trying direct lung hits won't work as somebody mentioned, as most airflow depends on the coils, regardless of what the tank can do and the air holes on the VS coils are small as they're designed for MTL.

The only thing I don't like about the VS coils is the juice holes are far smaller than standard Aspire BVCs meaning juice above 50/50 really doesn't work, at least it doesn't for me.
