Nautilus RBA kit

I do indeed @Crewella.

Yep, I had a feeling because my reaction was the same when it first arrived. That is the Nautilus RBA deck @pava.

You'll find the chimney bit screws off in the middle (the split is just next to the red o-ring, to the left of it in your pick) to reveal the actual deck you build on. It has to be that small to take the place of the original coils. Hope you have a magnifying glass handy! ;)

Oh ...... and just to add that the supplied coils that came with mine were under 1 ohm and actually wouldn't fire on my very basic Sigelei Z-Max mod, so I thought I should warn you! :D

When I built on it myself, I found 30 AWG wire was much easier than 28 AWG on those tiny screws and was OK for the 1.6 ohms I was after. I've even used 32 AWG on it as I had some, which was thin enough to just wrap around the screw!

Surely you mean a telescope.:11: My sausage fingers had difficulty picking up the screwdrivers, let alone those miniscule screws.:11: What I was actually expecting was a re-buildable deck, as shown in their illustration and that the rba would be threaded on the bottom and screw into place, just as the coil would, leaving the rba above to build on.

If that is what I received, then I'm not a happy man. Just as well I have a couple of UD Zephyrus's and a velocity clone to play with instead. As for the coiling kit that arrived with the nautilus rba, that looks very comprehensive and so far I'm very pleased with that, although using it will be the true test.

Honestly, that is what you received. If you hold yours up to the screen next to that stock pic, you will see it's the same - it's just scarily small and the pic shows two next to each other - one on the left with the chimney off and sitting beside it, the one on the right complete as yours was delivered.

That was the first deck I ever built on, so I was just as horrified as you are when it arrived, but I did get to grips with it, I did build it and it did work and I have now changed the coil a couple of times.

@Crewella, when you get an opportunity, would you be as kind to upload a photo or 2 of the builds you have done (or PM them), just to give me an idea of what I have got myself into please. I ordered free wire and sample pack of 3 wires and I received 10m of wire in the coiling kit, but I will need to inspect them properly to identify what type and gauge they are (brain is becoming very forgetful, something to do with my age). Got the grandchildren on Saturday, so it looks like Sunday before I get to make some coils, although the velocity came with 2 coils pre-made, they just need fitting and wicking. I can do that, sure I can. What could possibly go wrong?:rotflmao:

No problem, I will try to take some pics at the weekend. In the meantime, I have these so far which might help.

Firstly, don't first try to build it on a full-sized Nautilus, if you can help it, as the darned thing sinks so low in the base that you can hardly get to it! ;P

Much better on a Mini Nautilus base - this was my first go, using one of the coils provided (which then proved too low a resistance to fire on my mod :banghead: ) :

I hope that helps. I might not be around a lot over the next couple of days as work looks like it might get busy, but if you need anything at all please don't hesitate to ask me, or pm me if you want and I'll help if I can. I'll try to do you some pics of a crewella-coil at the weekend.

Good luck - may the force be with you! ;)

@Crewella, thanks for the advice and the pics.:2thumbsup: The pics do make more sense of what I was trying to imagine. Probably have a go at building on Sunday.

I understand the work thing, it certainly gets in the way of life at times doesn't it.:18:

On the general subject I noticed today that Vapouriz are selling Aspire Triton kit for £4.99 and the Triton tank for £17.99, not a bad deal for experimenting with the whole rebuilding thing, maybe.
