Hi guys. Couple of months into vaping and have quit smoking since I started. Went from a Vision Spinner 2 with a Kanger eMow tank using stainless steel coils to a Aspire Odyssey Mini Kit with the Triton Mini tank. I can't really say I've been enjoying the Triton Mini. I mean it's okay but something just doesn't taste right to me. I tried all the coils. The Nickel, Kanthal in all the available resistances but just doesn't taste as clean as the Stainless Steel coils from my old Kanger eMow/Vision Spinner 2 setup. Not an expert on vaping, coils etc but I can't really think of any other reason why the taste of the same eliquid is so different in this Triton Mini tank and why I can't get on with Kanthal coils or Nickel coils. Also the Nickel coils sometimes are hit and miss. I've gone through three packs of Nickel coils with a lot of them tasting funny. Like a burnt rubber taste which sometimes disappears after a couple of tanks of eliquid and sometimes just stays throughout the life of the coil. I don't think they're burnt either because I'm pretty OCD about following rules, reading instructions etc. I'm even beginning to suspect there's a lot of fake coils going around? I'm not sure but they all seem to have that authentication sticker which checks out as genuine. The Kanthal coils are not that great either. Not enough vapour production but the taste is a little better. I think I might have purchased the wrong kit for me. Maybe I'm wrong but perhaps I need something that has stainless steel coils? Any advice, suggestions on devices etc would be appreciated since I want to continue vaping but the experience with the Triton Mini is getting to the point where I'm not enjoying vaping anymore and I fear I might pick up smoking again because of this poor experience. Thanks.

Strangely enough I find the mini triton a disappointment compared to the nautilus mini. The 1.8Clapton coils give a disappointing undefined vape, I don't like temp control and the 1.2 coils work better in the mini nautilus and you are right the coils suffer the same problem,as the cleito rubber band flavour. I believe this is due to the material the rubber seals are made of.
Have a look at the new kanger protank 4, it's only just been released but it can be used as a mtl or a sub tank and comes with a fantastic rebuildable coil so if you wanted to you could just stick to stainless steel.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Yeah I prefer the 1.2 coils in the Triton Mini too but the inconsistency of the vape quality is really poor. I mean I've owned it long enough and been through so many coils of all types to be certain it's not for me. I only paid £37 for the kit off Amazon a while back so I think I should be able to sell it to a friend to recoup some of the money. The Protank looks okay but bit expensive for just the tank. I've just seen the Innokin Coolfire IV TC 100w full kit for under £40 with the iSub Vortex tank and that has stainless steel coils. From an official Innokin authorized vendor. Should I pull the trigger on that? I think I'd prefer a built in battery too plus it has 2 amp quick charge aswell. From what I've seen it looks like it can do both MTL and DL and I like switching between both styles of vaping all the time. I think I like temp control too since the Triton Mini with the Ni200 coils when it works on the rare occasion properly and doesn't taste of rubber is quite nice.

Can't recommend innokin and the cool fire enough. Has been my daily driver mod for a long long time and never missed a beat. The battery lasts forever and its tough as old boots. Unfortunately my daughter took fancy to it last week so I am about to buy another although I will get the 70w plus as temp control is wasted on me. The innokin tanks are fantastic.at sub ohm but I can't vouch for mtl. But at that price you can pick up,a mini nautilus or kayfun later.
Well found sir.

I enjoy both MTL and DL. I started off with a Spinner 2 and Kanger eMow for MTL and that got me off the cigs. I just found it natural to go from MTL to DL on the Triton Mini. Now I'm going for my first decent beginner sub-ohm kit with the Innokin Coolfire 4 TC100w kit and if you're interested it's on Amazon right now for £38.40 for the white version which I've ordered and £39.90 for the black version I think. Official Innokin vendor and fulfilled by Amazon should it turn out to be a dud or counterfeit. Ordered on Prime so should be here tomorrow https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01E4TU...8&qid=1464358776&sr=1&keywords=coolfire+tc100

No it will be fine don't worry. You will love it and try the mtl coils on it too and report back. It is a fantastic price but I have some 100w plus mods so and as I said before tc is wasted on me as I don't like it, to be honest I use mine for kayfuns and nautilus so don't tend to go over fifteen watts I could just get another cool, fire 4 but going to go for the plus for the extended battery.
Good luck and keep us updated. Oh and check out the you tube videos on how to rewick innokin coils. It's so easy and saves a fortune.

Arrived yesterday and been vaping on it since. It is genuine as the code checks out on the Innokin website. I'm seriously loving this piece of kit and the stainless steel coils are so good and clean tasting. No more burnt rubber taste for me. Can't believe I only paid £38 for this...

Looks good, glad you're happy. The other thing about Innokin, I find, is that the coils are more reliable than those from other companies. I've had dud Aspire coils and dud Kangertech coils, but never a dud Innokin one. And yes, as eyeball kid says, Innokin coils are usually quite easy to rewick if you want to save some pennies. :)
