What's new

Need help choosing a new tank and battery.

its for safety.
5 clicks to turn on and 5 to turn off. 1 to fire with a 10 second cut of for safety.
higher the wattage the hotter they get.

so how do you turn that one off youve got in your hand. if they dont turn off then imagine a kid getting hold of one.

ive been vaping for 15 months and NEVER heard of a pen type without a fire button and cig a likes dont count.

As @MrDJ safety, safety, safety, imagine a dual 18650 auto firing, with no way of turning it off, lets just say sparks will fly, there's a reason "auto" devices are pretty much non existent ie no one wants them and safety

Hmmmm, tricky. As everyone has already said, there is going to be a trade off/compromise.
Seeing as what you are after does not exist, perhaps you could consider something totally different, a set up that gives you the higher power and all the advantages that go with it, and keep your pen AS WELL. I have my cuboid as my "desk mod", it's big and has a solid stable square base, but I have different set ups for out and about, for example.
Or alternatively, if these are non-negotiable points, I'd say it's worked well for you for two years, maybe just stick with that.

Thank to everyone for your help. I'm ok with the button situation on safety grounds. After much research, I think I'm going to go for the Dani Extreme V2+ and the soon to be released Nautilus X tank which is TPD compliant.

Great mod. I have the Pipeline Pro 2, whuch I recently had upgraded to the "plus" version. It's the same as the Dani Extreme V2+, but with a different logo. I'd recommend checking out this very good, in-depth review of the Pipeline Pro 2 (= Dani Extreme V2) - it's not exactly the same as the V2+, the major difference being the sprung 510 pin on the V2+, and some slight changes to the menu system, but it gives you a good idea of how the mod works and what it can do:

For the same reason I like that my laptop wakes up when I open it rather than having to press the on button. If there is a genuine technical/safety reason then fair enough. I'm stuggling to understand why pressing a button is viewed as better...

One reason it's better to control the device with a button is that when you have bigger and better coils in a bigger and better atomiser, the coils have a bit of a ramp up time to get to full efficiency - I might press the button 2 secs before drawing any vapour out of it so its performing at full power. Taking the vapour direct into my lungs I might also release the button a touch before finishing drawing on it. My Clapton coils are still fizzing away putting out vapour after the button has been released. 2 or 3 hits like this and I'm putting the device down. A lot of pen style users I've observed seem to be puffing away constantly on their device all the time - mainly I think because they're getting very little vapour and nicotine out of it.

If my device tried to automatically detect when I was taking a draw the performance would fall through the floor I suspect.

This is all I suppose a long way round to saying the button gives you more control/total control over how the device performs

Thanks for the advice guys. So basically there are no powerful cigar shaped batteries on the market at present that have an auto feature rather than push button?.. :-(
No auto fire.I'm afraid I think, due to safety..with more powerful, batteries a malfunctioning auto fire could be catastrophic.
But for the cigar shape have a look at aspire. I believe they sell a package with the cleito and the cf max battery which looks nice and is about Churchill size. Or try a kangertech subvod mega. Same cigar shape but also has temp control and uses the very reliable toptank mini.
Good luck.
