Need help with wicking.

As said stealthvape are the best place for rebuildable supplies and suggest you try the voodoowool from SteathVape in your evod/protank if cotton ain't doing it for you. I too love custard and build with Voodoowool for my custardy treat it wicks briliantly. I use a dressmakers pin through the inside of the voodoowool when wrapping a coil. I also flame the Voodoowool as this makes it rigid and helps with wicking. Hope that helps ; )

I was given a piece of voodoo wool ages ago,liked it so much I've bought some more of it but thinner so I could use it in my Russian. The 4mm in my drippers holds so much juice it's like using a genesis type atty lol

It looks to me like you have two issues here, possibly.
Firstly, flavor molecules/particles are bigger than the same in the other ingredients of your juice. These larger bits are being filtered out by your wick. Hence no taste.

Firstly.
The fleabay silica, could be anything from anywhere, and is more likely to be c..p. And the flavor can't get along it. I use stealthvape silica, the same as most.

Secondly.
You say you get the same with cotton. This could also be a filtering out issue. But not from c..p cotton. More likely you are using to much cotton in the coil.

Now before you run off and spend all your hard earned. Give this a try.
Take one of your home made coils, wick it with 50% less cotton than you normally put in. Slap in an evod, and before you put the evod together, give the wick a good soak with juice. Then put the evod together WITHOUT FILLING. And vape it like a dripper. If you now get a little flavor, you can easily open it up and reduce the cotton wick some more. If you find it good, then fill the evod a little, and check it doesn't p..s out the bottom.

If that doesn't work, I don't know what else to suggest. Sorry

You've made some good points there. I'm going to get some silica from stealthvapes and also voodoo while I'm at it. What you said makes sense about the flavour, it is almost like I'm getting everything else but the flavour.

I'm defiantly going to give that cotton suggestion a go, I am only using a small amount but how small is small; So for the price of the cotton it's worth a shot. I am getting some flavour from cotton but for example my vaporcaper Berry cheesecake usually tastes creamy and biscuity with a hint of Berry, it's lovley. With the cotton, all I taste is cheap happy shopper digestives,lol.

I'll do some investigating and post my findings, hopefully good ones.

Just to tie the topic up. Hopefully It will go on to help people.

Got some silica from stealthvape. Tried it out today in evod with standard coil setup. It worked,the flavour is how it should be. That last silica I had must have been garbage. It looks the same but it obviously not. I have also tried it in my new micro-d rda and again loads of flavour.

Lesson learned there I think. buy cheap by twice, or something like that.
