I am one of those that naturally learns by reading stuff, so forums are great for me lol. Plus I have to await the slow boat from China, and even if that turns up in record time I can't afford the batteries until the end of the month lol, so I am just amusing my self in the mean time trying to understand the underlying principles
Fair enough :-P im a kinetic learner so I learn by doing ok...
Firstly read up on gauges of wire I personally find 28g wire is good for me (crazywirecompany.com)
Secondly you want basic tools for coiling
-Little blue screwdriver (comes with most FT RDAs)
-Lighter / Torch (Heating up the wire before coiling makes it easier to work with)
-Pliers (To hold the wire with whilst torching)
-Nail Clippers (Cutting wire to coil and trimming excess)
Once ive torched my wire I grab the screwdriver and I wrap 10 wraps of 28g around the screwdriver making sure they are as close as possible without overlapping each other. This should give you 1.4ohms around 0.14ohm per wrap. I do dual coils therefore 2 1.4 coils makes a 0.7 build.
With it still on the screwdriver I position the coil and thread the legs through the posts so it doesn't move and go on the piss.
Tighten down the screws, cut the excess off with the clippers.
And add wick I use organic cotton what you wick with is your choice, personal taste yadda yadda.
Try not to have the wick bunched up on the outside of the coils as it will cool them down meaning less vapor, have it freely.
Erm yeah. Basic coil tbh
