Hello everyone

I have a problem with my vape i have a geekvape legend 2 with zeus tank, ive used it for 1month with z coils 60 70w with a 78 22 ejuice the issue is that since 2days my coils feels burnt ive just changed yesterday a coil that i used only for 2days because i was smoking at 55 60w and it felt very burnt at each hits, for today's new coil same story i puted liquid on the cotton ( 4 drops at each holes ) puted the coil in the vape, loaded the liquid and i letted it for like 15min to let the liquid soak into the cotton i smoked a bit yesterday night for 40min and felt alright but this morning im hiting burnt hit again... why is that ? I also feel it when i use it at 55 or 50w so its verry annoying.

Im using now only 40w to avoid burnt hit but please i need ur help

Is the device reading the Coils correctly?

Check what resistance (Ohms) the Coils are and check the screen on your device and see if they match. If they are 0.03 or below out, that won't make a difference but if higher, it will.

If they are misreading, make sure everything is tightened down properly and try giving the 510 pin on your tank and the pin on your mod a wipe clean.

hello thanks for the reply I checked the ohms the coils indicate its work at 0.4 my device show 0.39 also I just cleaned all the device yesterdays by splitting all parts of device and putting it in hot water and clean it after with towel, but still having this issue I don't why I'm having this problem ( I also had this problem with new coils using the freemax pro 2 coils )

Well that’s a pain.

Unfortunately sometimes mass produced coils just aren’t very good! Could be a bad batch and you’ve dropped very unlucky.

The type of liquid you use can reduce coil life, as a general rule very sweet liquids will gunk up and destroy coils faster. Not always the case but it is common.

Are you starting at a low wattage or are you filling up and then going straight to 55watts and vaping.
start low. drip juice on cotton, fill up, turn down to 25watts and only press fire button for a couple of seconds, you will not get much flavour or cloud but this is still heating the coil and bedding it in. then turn up a couple of watts every couple of puffs until you reach your desired wattage.

as said, coils are massed produced and can have QC issues. it could be a couple of boxes or a whole pallet with thousands of boxes which are shipped around the world.

im using 0.2 coil rated 70-80w at 45-50watt and get an average of 5-7 days out of a coil and only custard used in these tanks.
juice with high sweetner will kill coils quicker.
if you like the higher wattage then maybe try the newer 0.15ohm coil.

I actually make it to 25w at the first to let the liquid flow and add 5w each few minutes and its still the same thing I hope its a production issue as u said because that's very weird because I had a 120ml and its almost empty and started doing this issue so I assume the issue comes from the actual coils

no idea on these coils but others have said about various other coils using a very small needle and pin prick the cotton around the coil. could be too compacted so juice doesnt soak in as it should do. dont push too hard though as if it bends the wire inside it could make it worse.

You mentioned putting a few drops on the 4 holes where the cotton is (also known as priming the coil). Have you tried adding a few drops into the middle of the coil directly onto the cotton as thats the best way to prime - that way your priming the cotton where the juice cant reach straight away as the 4 holes come into contact with the juice as soon as you top it up.
As MrDJ mentioned - I always start at low wattage, far below what the recommended wattage is for the coil and build my way up slowly. I also like to tighten the airflow as much as possible and take a few hard drags without firing it to help that cotton absorb some juice. It might be overkill but I still give it another 15 mins or so bedding time to ensure that cottons nice and soaked before use.
Worst case scenario if you over prime is you get a bit of bubbling and possible leakage but thats a small price to pay to ensure you have a nicely primed coil.
I also run coils below the recommended wattage quite often as I find I get a bit better life but still a very good quality vape. So for example the VooPoo PNP range of coils, ive found the VM6 60-80W coil the best running at about 45-50W. Still great flavour and vape production, nice warm vape and I get about 6 days average use from a coil :)
