What's new

New Covid strain spreading across the UK that's less likely to cause symptoms

Wanes. Okay, so what level of protection is needed to prevent "severe disease"? 90% 10%? Do we know?

Interesting position. To prevent severe disease in 100% of the population you'd need 100% protection. It's more about the whole than the individual when it comes to level of protection that is published for these vaccines.

Who's susceptible? Exactly. .. the numbers. Surely the numbers speak for themselves? What groups primarily make up the dead? What groups primarily fill hospitals? Do the jabs prevent long Covid? Not according to Andy n Dee and the 10s of thousands other vaxxed people who have it.

Is there any correlation between the severity of disease in those susceptible to it and vaxxed/unvaxxed status? Would Andy and Dee have had far worse outcomes if they had not been vaccinated? Would there be lots more dead and long covid sufferers if there was no vaccine? What would things look like now with no vaccine?

100% population protection isn't possible, and 100% of the population isn't susceptible to severe disease. I know three unvaxxed people personally who had it in the last month. All three shook it off like a bad cold. Indicative of everyone, no? Neither is the idea that everyone constantly needs "boosting" because some people might suffer severe disease. They can get boostered as much and as often as they like if they're worried.

About the whole? Vaccinated people can carry and pass the virus on. We're simply not going to vaccinate our way out of this. Imho.

Could/would it have been worse? Yeah, I'm sure it would. Not anti-vaxx mate, vaxxed and boosted. Think they're fookin amazing personally. But anyone comes near me with another booster and I'm sticking it in their fookin eye.

I agree with you both Mitzy moo and Hacky Hoo to a point.

But I’m just done with this shit now. Also vaccinated and boosted but I’m just so fucking done with it. I’ve been obedient for nearly two years, I’ve been spiked when they told me to get spiked, I’ve locked myself away when they’ve told me to lock myself away and to who’s detriment? Mine. Mentally I’m just battered, bruised and scarred to fuck and large aspects of my life are in tatters.

No selfishness intended but not any more. Feels more and more like population control 101 the more it goes on.

No figures of who has actually died because of covid, rather those who have died within 28 days of a positive test. I know first hand on three occasions that number is false as know 3 people who have died and had tests done post them dying, and were declared covid deaths. None died of covid and all had other medical issues. Falsified figures.

No freely available antibody tests for Joe Public. Mostly because that’ll mess with their population control demands.

And they don’t abide by their own rules?

Cool, sound, fine. Neither will I.

100% population protection isn't possible,

I agree, currently it is not. I didn't say otherwise.

and 100% of the population isn't susceptible to severe disease.

I agree. What we need is a way to find out exactly who is susceptible to severe disease. That would make targeting easier.

I agree. The current strategy is a sledgehammer. We need a better long term solution.

My reference to the whole was in relation to the protection against severe disease. Again, I agree, we need a better long term solution.

I seem to remember you weren't sure about having the booster :)

I have an annual flu jab so a regular Covid jab ain't gonna make me angry... I'm accepting that as the way it is.
Vaccine passportery ? - no fucking way.
Tories and civil servants taking the piss deserve full on labelling as cunts.
I'm wearing me mask and using the hand gel but Mrs knome has arranged a post-Xmas family get together so I ain't interfering with that.
:)

Okay, I'll play along.

Fair enough. :)

The impression I get is that they're full of schnitz. :D

And how does it play in for people who aren't susceptible to severe disease in the first place? And even less so after 3 fookin' jabs? :hmm:

Protection "drops". What level is needed to prevent "severe disease"?

I swear we've all entered the twilight zone. :30:
By jove I think he's cracked it

I've played along. Had my jabs and then the booster. How a fit 54 year old is considered to be in a "vulnerable " group is beyond me but I had the booster as I was asked to.
No more though, not interested. A jab every 3 month's is NOT a vaccine. I'll take my chances from now on.
As for more restrictions ! Well, bellend boris can do one. Talk to and listen to the South African doctor's you muppet.

Bojo is a ninja member on here mate. He’s seen you post about your car.
