What's new

New homemade eliquid tastes harsh?

Are you vaping it straight away after mixing & shaking. If you're vaping it too soon after mixing it could be it needs a day or so to properly combine or it's not mixed thoroughly & the flavour/nic being PG is on top & that's what you're vaping.

Its defo not the nic or the VG as I use the same brand in short fills and I've vaped the vg on its own just to see and its smooth.

I was thinking it was the flavour.

Thanks for the help.

Ive let some stand from my previous batch and its still harsh, I even tried speed steeping in warm water to no avail :(

I'd test the conc for oil content.
Take an empty 10ml or so bottle and half fill with tap water.
Add 5-10 drops of your concentrate and shake.
Let it settle for 20 mins and see if theres any floating residues.
Any impurities will show themselves.

Just a though as with high vg content pg flavours & nic will sit on top. takes a hell of a shaking to get them thoroughly mixed.

I've just ordered from Vabable, new flavour concentrates :)

The stuff I was using was cheap but obviously crap.

If you're after plain fruits then mixing doesnt need to be complicated.
1.5% inawera blackcurrant is as simple as it gets but very true to taste.

I am after fruits, I've ordered summer fruits and forest fruits and some cola and banana milk shake to make up the order for free shipping.

All have good reviews:)

I even tried speed steeping

Nothing will speed steep. You just need time, ideally in a cool, dark place.

What does that skittles flavour taste like? If it has any citrus in it that could quite easily be the suspect. Some people find it very harsh.
