Loving vaping so far ...strawberries and vanilla.. lovely..although flavours seem to change between sampling in shop and going in the the tank...not quite sure why stuff would need steeped if it's been through air flights and then sat on shelf for a while ?
Butterscotch..tasty in the shop...tastes like an old sock in my tank with new coil/wick ?

Welcome, it could come down to the difference between kit used in the shop and the type of kit you use, if you use cheap marketstall carts then even the best juice in the world will drop flavour if you use rubbish wicks. What are you using?

mvp with evod bcc..coil/wick only used a few days and washed and dried..in fact it may have been brand new(only gotta get red for whole range)
tbh i cant really tell any difference between evods and the iclear 16 that came with mvp..
Sampled on an ego/basic aspire in shop

It could be the coil and wick, each time you wash the wick some of the juice remains and builds up, the coil will build up burn juice as well which will build up and remain after washing, also the wick could have burnt if you are getting a burnt taste, if it's any of these then it's time to replace the head or rebuild the head.

Yeah, different set ups bring out different tones in liquid, just the way it is.

@cobra111 has got a part of it. I had a bad time with Kanger single coil heads for the Protank/EVOD making juice taste bad. It wasn't until I re-wicked an old Protank coil (because I'm a cheap-o) that I actually realized that the juice wasn't that bad. Though, I find that a lot of the 'in-house' juices aren't that good to begin with (from the ones I've tried). Or, they're hit-and-miss from one flavour to another.
One store-branded juice line (won't mention the name) has a great strawberry and blackberry just out of the bottle. However, their apple and pineapple flavours just tasted like I was chewing on a bowl of potpourri.

It wasn't just a steeping problem, since the juice was stamped with a 2013 'born-on' date. It should have been good to go with the logic of steeping as I understood it.

What helped me was reading a few forum posts on steeping and watching some videos online covering the subject.

For example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgKfKctOMQI

Just by breathing my juice for a little bit, shaking it up to get air bubbles into the liquid, and allowing some of the 'perfume' to evaporate, that apple moved from getting a blast of Chanel N°5 down my throat to a crisp granny smith. The pineapple was just awful and was un-salvageable. Can't say the rule of breathing and steeping can fix a plain bad juice.

It's just a lottery draw. Those tanks of tester ejuice can be sitting and breathing on the shelf, allowing for a newbie tester (as I have been) to believe this is exactly like the vape they are going to get when they crack the bottle and start filling up the tank.

Hope this helped a bit.
There will most definitely be a more advanced poster come and give you the whole run-down.
Just giving my thoughts and views.

:2thumbsup: Hello Bob!!! Nice to meet you, Nice username by the way, Is there anyone in your Family with One or Three!!!

i've given it a bit of thought and realise the way i buy juice..
try between 5-8 none jump out at me..by that time my tongue has stopped working so i buy the one i remember being least offended by..
dont think i've actually bought one yet after actually liking it in shop...in fact strawberry and vanilla was positively horrible for the first few hours of trying...now i lurrrvvee it..
weird
gonna just buy a few popular flavours without sampling as it seems to be pointless so far..
swedish fish
and a custard of some sort..
ps ma names not actually bob and i've got 4 eyes ;-)

oh and thanks for the advice...dont seem to have a like/thanks button on here ?

Ahh.....vaper's tongue. The few times it's happened to me were the times I decided to run through my less appealing juices.

I've learned my lesson with buying in-store (I hope). Have a couple orders coming from juice vendors recommended not only on this forum but others as well.

Dive into some juice threads on PotV and see where people mainly get their juice from. Perhaps you can look over juice vedors that get the 'Vendor of the Month' awards.
Buy a sample pack or something along those lines and broaden the spectrum.
Find out what you like in a juice. PG/VG content. Nic levels. Flavour selection.
It's a bit of a confusing world for someone starting out. Trust me, I'm right there with you in the search for tasty juices.

Perhaps, after you find a good combo of what you're looking for in a juice, you might turn your hand at making your own juices.
It is what a lot of vapers get around to in the long-run because it becomes a lot cheaper, no shipping time, and you get more control of the flavours.
I'm too new to have gone down that road just yet, but I've seen a lot of more experienced vapers post they make their own now.

Good luck finding a tasty juice!
