What's new

New member + struggling to carry on!

I've been using vasoline on my lips for 4 months, it does nothing for the dryness for me, they're totally dry again in the next 5 minutes, been through all the chemist lip balms as well, ALL don't work, tried upping my water intake but it just made me feel ill with all that re-cycled ex toilet/sewerage chemical topped tap water. Too sickening drinking fruit juice 24/7. Basically tea and coffee day and night, i know it's a diuretic, oh well...have to live dangerously some times......

Keep going mate you will get there in the end and when you do it will be amazing. We all had niggling issues when starting out. What atty/clearo are you using?

Been at higher settings, only had the spit once at current settings. I think that's when the biggest sore has developed, the other 2 are in the same side of my mouth, but not directly related to the original spit. Currently set at 3.3 and 6.0, not sure which is which?
i've read about cankers / ulcers and cotton mouth in the first few weeks after switching to vaping, but I'm 4 months in and still suffering, that's the frustrating thing, never had an ulcer / canker until now.
not smoked a roll up this side of christmas

The 3.3 will probably be voltage, the 6.0 wattage.

When you're setting the level, you can either set the voltage or the wattage.. not both.

I'd suggest using wattage (power) mode because this should automatically adjust to compensate for variations in the atomiser/clearomiser/cartomiser ohmage.

As @BKKKPewsey suggests, I would try setting to around 7.5 watts and adjusting up or down from there as best suits your taste.

Other than that, you could try a different eliquid, different ratios of PG and VG or even try PEG based liquid and keep trying to drink plenty of fluid.

Using a 'medicated' mouthwash may help a bit (there's quite a bit of change happening in your oral chemistry due to stopping smoking and something like oraldene might just help?).

Because of increased hydration you may need supplements as well I eat bananas as well to keep up potassium levels for instance

I use Burt's Bees pomegranate lip balm and it works an absolute treat. Lips as smooth as a baby's bum again!

Promises Promises lol.. :whipping2:

I will show you my yellow submarine nemi at vapefest :P

But to Pptom it is a lot of trial and error to find what works for you. Try steffijades advice and let us know how you get on. Other suggestions can then be put forward ;)

:welcome1:

I had a period where I was waking up at night with a dry mouth, but mainly waking up too use the loo. I've now solved this by using the toilet right before I crash and also have a mouthful of water. It sounds silly, and you've no doubt tried this, but my habit was falling asleep watching TV and what I would do is wake up briefly to switch it off and then nod off - now I have the routine above I sleep through till the morning with minimal dry mouth too.

I've also had canker sores recently on the inside of my lips but they are almost gone now. In an effort to get rid of them I have been cleaning my drip tip regularly with alcohol wipes and they are now almost gone. I can't offer a scientific explanation as I know little about such things, but so far so good for me :)
