Since I posted this thread I think I have become a little wiser , and will probably go completely diy when I exhaust my current stock of shortfills and nic shots.
My final observation ( to which I would welcome all comments) is the following.
I've been told that using a 50/50 shortfill of 50ml and combining it with 10ml of 18mg nic shot 50/50 pg/vg should give a nicotine level of 3mg overall. Also using 2 nic shots would result in 6ml overall.
What I can't get my head around is that If this scales up , is why an empty 60ml bottle filled half full with shortfill and half nic shot would not give you 20mg nicotine more or less from the resulting mix?
Flavour might be a problem but there are methods for getting around that.

What you would have there is 30ml liquid with no nic, added to 30ml with nic = you would be diluting the nic by half. It’d be 10mg.

Yes you are right, shortfills account for 10ml of nic shots added. You can squeeze 2 in (just) and will give you an overall of 5.86mg (I think).

If you start with 18mg nicotine in a 10ml bottle, you will only dilute that down. If you think 18mg PER ml it might make a bit more sense to you. If you add 5ml to your 10ml nic shot, you will get 15ml of 12mg juice.

And if you combine 2 nic shots you will have 20 ml of 18mg juice.

mathematically that makes sense to me, But how to you apply that to the claims by suppliers that adding a second Nic Shot to a shortfill increases the final product from 3 to 6ml?
I'll just make do the best I can with what I have until I go completely diy .

18mg nic shot contains 180mg of nicotine as it's 10ml that 180mg is divided by 10 giving you 18mg per ml so adding 2 nic shots to a short fill you would have 360mg of nicotine going into 70ml of juice so you would divide 360 by 70 to give you your total mg per ml of 5.14mg per ml

Well I've got to say I've now lost the plot completely , but this is what I intend to do.
I'm going to start with an equal mix of retail shortfill an retail 20ml nic shot both of which are an equal 50/50 pg/vg mix and see how that works out. i'v e also ordered 72mg nicotine which I will add again to the retail shortfills I have in the recommended volumes suggested ie 15ml per 60ml and compare the two. Hopefully I won't have to throw away the whole lot.
either way it can't be a bad thing that my body has adjusted to lower levels of nicotine even if it was un-intentional.

What device / tanks are you using for vaping? Are you MTL or DTL vaping? I generally use 20mg strength juice in my pods / allinone / MTL devices, then when DTL subohm vaping I use 50ml shortfills with a 10ml 20mg nic salt shot added which gives me approx 60ml of 3mg strength juice

If you can vape at lower mg then I I'd suggest go for it. I mean we dont really want to be addicted to nicotine do we? Lol.

If you add your 20ml of nicotine it will come out at 5.14mg final mix. Flavour should be ok at that level. I used to add 2 bottles to mine.

Or you can wait for your Beckam and Neville nic to arrive and not use the mix shots until you are vaping a lower level. Are you MTL or DTL vaping?

try 10ml of the "Becks & Neville" when it arrives in your current shorfills, like I suggested yesterday, as you wont be diluting the flavour, you can always add more, but you cant take it out (it'll be 12mg then)
