New - smok not working

Stupid I know, I would never do it myself you understand. Are the batteries wrapped in plastic shrinkwrap as well as wrapper. It would flash briefly then nothing, as I understand. Not from experience obviously.

for a shop to tell you to leave it charging overnight is a shop i would never go to again.

smok QC can be crap but ive got 2 aliens here and been used for over 18 months and never had a issue with them except paint peeling.
when you try the 5 fast clicks on have you tried it on different parts of the fire bar as if your trying it right at the bottom it might not be connecting so try in the middle.
try it 50 times if you have to and vary the speed of the pressing.
im guessing as it does show something on the screen the batteries are not the wrong way round. what make and model are the batteries and where did you get them from? was it the same shop.
also the usb cable is really for software updates which 80% of the time will crap out the alien so not advisable to try. the shop should of advised an external charger is best for safety.

when they said leave batteries to charge for a while how long did you leave them. it can take upto 6 hours for first charge using an external charger so using the usb trickle charge could take 10-12 hours.

either ask for a full refund or a replacement.
if replacement open the box in front of them and try the new mod with the batteries you were supplied.
if it works all good. if it doesnt you have duff batteries. then ask them for a pair of their batteries to test the mod before you leave the shop.
i only buy batteries from our tried and tested suppliers on here. fogstar.

batteries now have to have specific markings on the wraps of the batteries. if yours you bought do not then they could be selling fakes or old batteries.
