What's new

New to mixing advice please

Also when adding Nic later take into account that it will change your pg/vg ratio and depending on how strong you want may affect your flavour %
i.e. if you're making 12/18mg you would be adding around 15-20% more pg
I kind of did do that as my vape is a starter kit the nic i bought is pg nic so adding after should only lower the vg level
Im trying some really cheap 88 vape liquid in my endura t 18 at 50pg/50vg sweet strawberry at 6mg nic and its not to bad
If i can make anything that tastes better than this then i will be happy

Get the nic in, leave it a couple of weeks and post back and let us know how it turns out.

@mattyk2010 , @Ment , myself and others have been experimenting with steeping just the flavours and nic concentrate first, then adding the vg and pg. It appears to speed up the steeping process.
I think that is how they make those 1 shot shake and bakes from what i have gathered

The only advice I can offer is ... don't try to get VG in to a syringe. You may lose the will to live doing so.

haha i bought a 50 mil syringe on the random im glad i did though. It helped me confirm the scales were good to use using water and the mixing jug
And yeah that vg is pretty gloopy
All i wish is that i had bought some 50 ml bottles 10 mill are a pain in the arse

I found that steeping just the nic and flavourings ruined the mix. but it may work for some flavours and not others.

I've had the best results with leaving out half the vg.

This also casts new light on the theory that higher pg juices have more flavour, which I've always doubted.

I think it's just that higher pg juices steep more quickly so the flavour is more developed.

stand the bottle of vg in warm water before use that will soon thin it down enough to use a syringe
TBH i use measuring cylinders.

only thing i have noticed so far is that a family member that vapes hangsen vga mix high pg 20/80 i think has a pretty clean liquid
compared to mine which has flavors and turns an amber colour
same nic levels i think

Interesting. Higher pg liquids would also often have higher nic, mind.

Well aye, that’s the thing some people puff 0mg, some flavours don’t steep much or at all, and a lot of the time even the ones that need a steep will taste ok or even good before they’ve steeped, or with no nic added. I think the chemistry behind it is probably complicated, but some flavours definitely need to steep with nic to really get the best out of them. Usually custard type ones, desserts, some vanillas, tobaccos etc. @dahut also posted something interesting about how steeping actually changes the nic itself and introduces another different alkaloid (nicotyrine?) that increases and prolongs the effects of the nic. as a result of the reaction with flavours, if I recall correctly.
