Hi Archie, welcome to the forum. Loads of good advice here already.

I'll add a couple of things - read through the forum threads to help you get familiar with terminology. Try not to get overwhelmed by it, it will come clear in the end. Don't be afraid to ask questions, everyone is friendly and you'll find your answers.

If you're anything like me, when you start vaping, you'll cough for about a week. Take little puffs and let the e-cig do the work, you don't need to suck like a cigarette draw, the vapour will do it for you.

Go for the highest nic level you can - 18mg if using freebase (nic salts can be 20mg and they are used by lots on here but they make me cough so I use freebase. You can drop down levels if you're feeling it's too much.

Drink lots of water and then drink some more. Avoid dehydration.

If you go for tobacco flavour, try to get a flavour that would be closest to what you smoked. There's lots of different tobacco flavours out there and it could take you a while to find the right one.

Think about other flavours that you like or that may inspire you. I gave up smoking with dinner lady lemon tart because it was sharp and my dulled taste buds got a flavour from it. I also used cocoa flavours to stop me eating chocolate!

Good luck, hope you find your setup.

Hello and welcome to PotV. You have already received loads of good information so I'll just say "Hi".

HI Mates,

This is archie richard new to this forum community its been 8 years that i'm smoking there is drastic change in my health. After my friend advice i want to start vaping to quit smoking any suggestions from you guys how to start can anybody give me end to end advice.

Hi Archie and :welcome1: to the planet. :)

We love questions here and everyone is so friendly and quick to offer help and advice.

Ask as many questions as you want and don't feel too silly or embarrased to ask. The only silly questions are the ones you don't ask.

I haven't read all the responses yet but I'm sure others have given you lots of new information to digest so I won't jump in yet and just repeat the same stuff but we'll all keep chipping in as much as you need.

Enjoy your stay on the forum. :)

I figured i'd list a few devices for u to look at if u want.

For very loose draw, low restriction mesh coil
(These are all single battery or internal battery kits that take the larger 21700 battery or large internal batteries to power a larger mesh coil that will produce more vapor than others)

Eleaf pico 21700/pico s (external battery) with ello tank
Voopoo drag mini (internal battery) with uforce tank
Freemax maxus 100w with fireuke 3 tank
Geek vape Aegis max (external battery, shockproof, waterproof) with zeus tank

(The aegis mini and aegis solo versions are also very good devices, also shockproof, water proof, as well as smaller and lighter, they come with the older cerberus tank and can use a much lower power supermesh x2 coil)

For a very tight draw MTL
Innokin kroma r with zlide tank (smaller lighter external 18650 battery)

For an in between draw
Freemax twister 30 with fireluke 22 tank (internal battery)
Vaporesso gtx one with gtx 18 tank (internal battery)

For a pod mod device (it uses pods but are in a completely different league than a juul for example)
Vaporesso pm80 (internal battery)/80se(external 18650 battery)
Geekvape aegis boost (shockproof, waterproof, internal battery)

If u want to talk about the normal low power pod devices msg @DeeDee and she will be more than happy to help.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, just a few recommendations that i can think of off the top of my head for u to browse and pretty much the ones i would put on my own shopping list if i were in the market for a starter kit

If u want to go with large mesh coils there r dual battery mods as well, but there r other considerations when using those devices. Just ask if u want to know more. Good luck.
