What's new

New to the forum and considering vaping.

Hiya and welcome to the forums. I've been vaping for almost a month now and as it goes I think I got lucky with the gear I chose and then stumbling across this place for advice.

If you're asking for opinions, here are mine!

I would recommend getting a Kangertech EVOD starter kit. The kit should consist of two batteries, two EVOD clearomisers, a charger, and some spare atomisers.

This is the exact kit I bought, and am still using, which cost me around £40 with a case from a local seller. I think for a complete newbie then it's a good call for the money because you don't know for sure if vaping is for you or not, if not then you haven't wasted too much.

I did however gel with vaping and I wish I had bought a twist battery with a higher mah rating. I do usually have to charge both of my batteries once a day so wouldn't mind one that lasts a bit longer. The twist part of the battery means you can alter the voltage output for a slightly different vape.

Be warned though, vaping is good! I've now properly got the bug and am constantly researching what to get next!

Have a look round and try and look at all your options, opinions are just that and mine is probably not the same as the next persons! You have come to the right place though and you will find lot of help here. Good luck choosing your gear and I hope you enjoy vaping!

Welcome to the forum. I have found that vaping is a journey and I have not had a rolly for 19months and never ever want one again. I think for a new vaper this would be a good starter kit http://www.paradisevapeuk.co.uk/product-p/tatevv.htm as the battery is decent and you get 5 i16 clearomisers which are very reliable.Good luck on your journey(i bought one of these kits the other day and although I have better mods I wanted a decent backup)

Just started vaping to ! Got a ego vision kit from vapeland.co.uk £40 complete kit with some juice delivered .

Wow. Thats a hell of a lot of responses and information and it has really cleared things up for me. So thanks to all for the help and also all for the warm welcome...

So yesterday my girlfriend comes back from work and in her possession she has one of these DeBang Stix I mentioned earlier, which basically is a eGo Battery with a CE4 clearomiser. She drove around a few garages and found who sold them. She also got me a bottle of (18mg/ml nicotine) Raspberry DeKang E Juice. So I was pretty excited to try this out. So I followed all the steps and also tips from around the internet and got to having a few puffs. Man its harsh on my throat, I knew maybe the first few would be, but now the next morning I'm still struggling to take this vapour down without loosing a lung in the process.

Done some digging around online and found out more info on the DeKang juices, what the PG/VG ratios where etc and I was wondering if this might be the reason for the harsh hits. Most websites I found information on say they have a ratio of circa 75/25 PG/VG, more digging showed that the higher the PG the stronger the throat hit, is that correct? Also the nicotine strength could also contribute, but 18mg is advertised as medium so I thought it would be ok. So I don't want to give up with this so time to start looking for a more balanced ratio, also going to get myself a better clearomiser, it seems like the EVOD is the way to go.

So in my hunt for a better experience, could anyone recommend a brand of E Juice that might be more suited for me.

I believe someone asked me where I lived in hopes people may know of an actual store I could go to. Well I live in Kent, more specifically Dartford, for those who don't know, I guess the closest 'Landmark' (if you could call it that lol) is Bluewater Shopping Centre. To be honest I wouldn't even know where to start looking for a local shop, and that if there is even one close to me.

Again, thanks too all for the great information, this is really helping me out ;)

Darren, I don't mean to be rude, but when you say you don't know where to start looking for a retail outfit can I humbly suggest that you use something like google?

There's a shop in Sittingbourne, I'm sure that there is one nearer.

And the same thing with your juice selection - there are hundreds, thousands of different juices, you just need to decide on what you think will work for you - use the market place on here, use google, read the forums.

Good luck on your journey to find the right set up for you.

Thanks for the info. I was aware of the place in Sittingbourne, but its about an hours drive from where I am. Was just wondering if there was a place more local that is all. I tried googling but didn't really get any results. I'll keep looking. In regards to the juices, I know it will be a more personal preference but a lot of the brands I am stumbling across either do not have a PG/VG ratio stated or are 70/30 which I do think is a little too strong. Was just hoping if anyone could name a brand that had a more even ratio, not to worry. I shall keep looking.

Thanks

The best juices are never usually on your doorstep! I've found the best juices I've had have been recommended and I've ordered online.

My suggestion for you would be to try www.krakenecigs.com, some amazing juices on there. I bought my first two proper juices (Squid Ink and Minion Farts!) from here after having enough of the crap juice I got with my starter kit.

The different in vape quality, smoothness and flavour was night and day!

Hi Lockett85 - nice to have you here! :welcome1:.

I'm very new to vaping as well, only been at it about 2 weeks. In response to your questions I want to give feedback on what eqip I got for starters and a little of my experience until now.

Equipment: I bought myself a eGo-C. Mainly because it has 2 batteries and and the fact that you can totally replace every part appealed to me. But I have had some small issues with the filling/re-filling on this though. One issue is that the hole in cartridge very often is to narrow to fit the drip-nozzle of your e-sig juice. So you need a middle-thingy like a pipette f.ex. The second was the issues with actual leakage from the cartridges althoug I couldn't find anything I'd done wrong. The cartridge has a "track" on eash side and inside on the bottom of atomizer/clearomizer floor there are also two holes. Seems like the right thing was to NOT aligne these. The other is placing the device horizontally which I'm not sure it likes too much? But these cartridges have also worked with no problem at all, and these are the type you will get included in starter kit. They are very nice to vape from.

(Hope I get the part-names right now...) Regarding the clearomizers (where tanks or cartridges are put inside) there is a couple of things to notice as this is probably the part you will deal/handle the most: But firstly, the eGo-C has it's own type of fitting to the battery, and this fact reduces the number of clearomizers that you can use. This information is usually placed below the product picture. It is usually describes as "eGo-compatible" or "510-compatible" etc, but you will learn to spot the types as you get more experience... The second is that eGo-C has this system of refillable tanks w/ a mouthpice that goes inside the top part while others like this types have a top filling which can also be describes as "a one pice" - the part that makes the vape and attaches to the battery. In my experience I have found the top-filling type to be easier to handle because you avoid the drip-nozzle size problem (all nozzles will fit becaus of the relatively large hole whe unscrewing the mouthpiece) and you really don't have to use any toiletpaper to wipe excess fluid while unremoving to begin the refill-procedure. You can refill the top-loaders very very easily, where as bottom-loaders you first have to unscrew from the battery and the unscrew the clearomizer (tank-part). However a top-loader benefits from having not near-empty amounts of fluid in the tank as the atomizer intake is near top. This type you can place horizontally, up-side down, any way you like and it won't leak at all.

Alternatiely, if not buying a starter kit, check kit pricing and see if you can get two eGo-C and 5 atomizer heads for the price of the starter kit - because it also includes 5 atomizer-heads (value ~£10)

For starter flavours I have bought and tried : Shire Malt as a pure vape, and either XO Supreme or a Virginia that you can add some drops of Vanilla, Apple Gold or Licorice or even Strawberry/Lime into (10 ml bottles). I even got this e-liquid called TCV from TopCookie because it had got quite a renome on the web. Then buy 30ml of the one tobacco you like the best. This is the fun part: Mixing to your own taste! I guess the main divide has to do with if you are a sweet-tooth or a fruit-lover... But it is probably also the costliest part; When to stop buying all thes exciting different tastes?!

Can't think of anything else at the moment, best of luck to you!
