Heya, I've been smoking half a pack a day for the past ~4 years, and have been trying to switch to vaping.
Around a month ago I bought a juul - it's been a blast to use but I was looking for something that'd produce bigger clouds. From the research I've done, to get a box kit you'd need to purchase a box mod and an RTA.
Heard something about coils and cotton? Not sure if this is needed or what type to get?

So far been looking at a Tesla Nano 120w and a Kylin RTA V2.

Is there anything else I'd need and if so what?

Best wishes

If you want to give up smoking then blowing clouds might not be the way to go at first. Maybe get used to replacing the cigs. As above @welshman68 get something to replace the cigs. If then you get the urge to produce bigger clouds then the world is yours to explore. If you want to quit smoking the advice is on POTV. Its not easy but its a dam site easier with advice. Welcome to the planet. Great place to be.

Hi and welcome. Im not a big cloud person but others can help you in that department. Im guessing if you've been using the Juul you are a Mouth to Lung vapour taking it back like you would a cigarette? Usually big clouds are associated with a different style of vaping where you breathe directly into your lungs.

Reason I say this is that if you want to make the change then you are talking about changing the style to which you are vaping as well as the equipment you are using.

Before you make the switch to anything id recommend going into a vape store and asking to try a Direct Lung device to see if you like it. Then if you do there's loads you can choose from and you'll get loads of good recommendations here.

Hi @Dan_ and welcome to the planet.

first question. did the juul help you stop smoking the cancer sticks.
reason i ask is there is just so much kit out there and for blowing big clouds you need low nicotine like 3mg while the juul pods are 18mg i think. only used mine once so not sure.

also a rda, rta is not a must for beginners. ive been vaping 4 years and never used one. a normal tank and screw in coils are the easiest for a beginner.

so 2 options.
mouth to lung tank, like inhaling a cig, high nicotine, low wattage, low to average cloud

direct to lung, subohm, like inhaling direct to lungs like a bong, low nicotine, high wattage, mahoosive clouds.

the jac vapour S22 or VIM are great starter kits. turn on and vape. coils last ages.

have a look through post 5 here of our suppliers POTV Vendors & Recommended E Liquid Suppliers

I’d recommend a box mod - vaporesso are my favourite but the oumier rudder is superb too. If you going for a decent mod with decent wattage you’ll also need external batteries and a charger for them.

Like @MrDJ I would advise caution about an RTA/RDA at this point. Instead have a look at the freemax mesh pro or Augvape Skynet tank. Both take the mesh pro coils which give both great flavour and cloud production and are a stock coil that you pop in, prime and vape. If you are keen to try rebuildables go for a single coil with an easy build deck. Keep your juul in case you initially struggle to coil and wick

have to agree with above.
if your just after clouds then vaporesso make great mods. ive got 5 now. the freemax is my number 1 tank and the skynet is a close second.
some great prices on kits out there so just ask.

Depends if your a practical kinda guy with reasonable hand skills can handle a screw driver etc,, then go the RTA /Rda route as it is much cheaper than shop bought coils . I would stick to the regulated box mods at first and watch plenty youtube on coil building . Keep it simple with spaced coils and you will be fine .

if u want cloulds u be wanting a sub ohm tank ie uwell crown IV kit or if want to go down rebuildable line go with a dripper as its easyer to learn on than a tanks as tanks u get issue with dry hits spitting and flooding and even leaking
