Ahh, I don't know if this is a review, comments or a call for advice!
Not wanting to get caught out with a flat battery, I bought a Vamo 5 and a Kanger Protank 2 as an upgrade to my eGo twist and Ce4 tank - both of which have worked really well, I just wanted to have a decent battery and if you have a Vamo then you need something like a Kanger Pro - no??
First impressions - wozzers - this is what I had been looking for!! This is vaping, the hit, the vapour, the flavour - yep - thats what I want and it gives it me in spades.
Vamo is nice and chunky, feels heavy, solid a quality piece of kit - the on/off button rattles slightly but I can live with that. I don't want to understand how the two little buttons work to be honest, I can play with the wattage that suits me just fine - turn it up a few volts and I get a lovely hit - yes, I like the Vamo. I like it a lot.
Protank 2 - again, a lovely piece of kit, good quality feel to it - I like the way its built, feels solid, gives a great vape and appeals to my manly side.
So, in essence I'm happy with my upgrades but in reality I'm not sure that I am.
And here's why.
Vamo - blimey, it eats batteries, I'm lucky to get 12 hours from one and I don't consider myself a heavy vaper. I need to carry my charged eGo twist with me in case it runs out - and the vamo will run out, sooner than you'd expect (hey ho, only another fiver for a second battery)
Protank - I must be doing something wrong cos its drinking liquid like an alcoholic - I filled the tank three times today and used something in the region of 8mls of juice - that seems a lot, or is it just me? I'm not vaping constantly, I tend to vape at the same kind of times as I used to have a fag, so maybe 12 times between 08.00 and 18.00
And here's my biggest issue with the protank - I struggle to take the threaded base off to fill it - tonight I had to use a pair of mole grips to hold the metal ring at the bottom of the tank and a pair of pliers to undo the threaded base. I'm 6'3" with muscles and I had to use tools to take it apart. That can't be right can it?
Like I said, maybe I'm doing something/somethings wrong but I can't think what it is. My Ce4 tank on the eGo would last for a couple or three days and is easy to refill. The protank seems like its fighting me all the way.
Don't get me wrong, the vape with this set up is fantastic but blimey its an effort - all I want is an nice easy vape - a battery that lasts for the day and a tank of juice that does the same.
Do you carry your juice around with you all day cos your tank is thirsty? Do you carry more than one spare battery because you know that you might need them?
I'm getting back ache from all the stuff I have to carry!!
Let me know if I'm doing something wrong - I want to learn and I want to continue vaping, but if the battery dies or the protank is empty I know I'll be tempted to grab a smoke.
Thanks in advance for any tips or comments
