Hi all,

So I'm new to vaping and just purchased the Aspire Zelos 3 and some 1.6ohm coils. The retailer I got the kit from said that 70PG/30VG is standard for MTL vaping so I bought a few bottles. Just wanted to get some advice from anyone that uses the same mod or does MTL vaping in terms of coils/juice.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Toxic2468, I've never used the Zelos so can't advise on that but as for viscosity, most MTLers tend to use 50/50 juice, although I've never found it matters too much and just bung in whatever I fancy. Most kits tend to handle it. 70% PG is very thin though and I'd worry about leaking with that.

As Astral says, 50/50 is perfect for any MTL tank. You may get some gurgling with 70PG.

Hi @Toxic2468 and welcome to the planet.

not got the kit but originally started with the nautilus which uses the same coils.
1.8 and 1.6 (10-14w max) are mouth to lung coils at low wattage so as said best with 50vg/50pg as you may get a few dry hits where 70vg may be too thick. trust me you dont want dry hits.
saying that, the 0.7ohm coil is perfect and works fine with 70vg juice at slightly higher wattage. somewhere around 20ish watts.

sounds like the advice given was a bit off and not the best advice. ignore this as its 70pg and not 70vg DOH!

Pg is very 'thin' like water and VG tends to resemble pouring treacle.

70PG/30VG used to be a regular juice for MTL, but it is very thin and can cause flooding/gurgling/leaking with stock coils. Slightly thicker 50VG/50PG has been the norm for MTL for several years as it is thin enough to wick freely, but not so thin it is likely to cause flooding problems.

I would buy your juice from somewhere else if I were you - I would be rather suspicious that the shop owner is trying to move old stock. I havent seen 70PG juice for 5 years and didn't know it was still a thing.

70PG will certainly give you a bit of throat hit, personally, I don't venture much higher than 60PG.
