Hello there.
New vape user here.
My name is Martyn.
I smoked from 14 years old up until I was 25. I didn't smoke for 15+ years but in January of this year I had a psychotic break (I have Affective Psychosis) and around March I started smoking again. Around May my son bought me a disposable Elfbar vape and I loved it so I switched to those. After realising hoe expensive they are (and concerned about throwing so many batteries into landfill) I bought Smok Nord 2 a week ago tomorrow; I like it but don't find it as tasty as the Elfbars, I've tried various brands of Nicotine salts but they're all a bit underwhelming for taste so today I ordered a Freemax Maxus Solo 100W (I'm a sucker for anything with L.E.Ds) which should arrive Saturday, I forgot to order a battery though so I need to phone the shop early tomorrow to add one to my order so I don't have to pay for an extra delivery.
I have no clue how to work this thing! I'm still learning about coils, ohms, wattage etc.

Anyway, nice to be here, isn't it nice not stinking of tobacco all the time!

Congrats on kicking the cigs.
We as a forum have exactly the same thoughts on throw aways and wish more would see sense on how much they are wasting with those dreadful things. Used to be hundreds of laughing gas canisters dumped on the streets and now it's throw aways.

Anyways there is always somebody online to give advice about your new kit and no matter how simple or silly you may think it is it's usually not so ask away.

Just to add, your new kit is a regulated mod so it will have built in protection so you don't have to research on ohm's law as that is mainly for pro mech mods which have no protection.
In simple terms the coils that come in the kit will have a wattage range and as long as you stay within that range you will be safe.
It's a sub ohm kit so expect big clouds and lots of flavour. Not sure nic salts will suit it though as I guess they are 10 or 20mg whole sibohm kits are more suited to 3-6mg standard freebase nic.

As a quick guide when you get kit, fill with juice and let it sit for at least 10 mins to prime coil (make sure it’s soaked in) then start very low on watts, even if u think nothing is happening it is it’s breaking the coil in x
As for juice I’m not sure , 88 vapes from Poundland is a good and tasty and normally have a range of flavours and nic strength or try https://vape69.com/ good range and very tasty and even better price xxx

Regarding the disposables; I've just converted my sons mate to a Nord 2 and my son is having my one when my new kit arrives so that's another 2 people not using them

The salts I have are 20mg. Will I be able to add them to the short fill bottles I got of the same flavours or will that mess up the mix? I got nic shots to go in the short fill bottles; I was overwhelmed by e-liquid flavours and then all over again by nic shots, there are so many brands! I like sweet, cakes flavours. Strawberry milkshake was my favourite Elfbar but anything that tastes like puddings is on my to try list, eventually, my wife says I need to control myself so I don't end up with a super markets worth of flavours. I'm quite partial to blue raspberry and a cherry sherbert flavour by a brand called Riot-something.

I want to get a 5ml bulb glass tank for the new vape but I can't find a seller in the U.K. so I may have to import. Alternatively I saw a Fireluke 3 metal tank that comes with a 5ml tank but I'm not sure about compatibility. The threads are the same as the fitted tank so my assumption was that they'll work together but I don't want to risk the £20+ it would take to find out, I'm a tight old git

I tried the Vape88 liquid which I found in B&M but it tasted like it was burnt. It was probably my lack of experience with using vape but it put me off using them again

Most tanks have a 510 screw connection so will fit almost every mod out there.

Your correct. If you have a shortfill and a salt shot 10ml then adding that to the shortfill bottle will make the final ratio just over 3mg in strength.

There are hundreds of suppliers with thousands of varying flavours out there and the hardest part is finding what suites you.
When I'm on computer tomorrow I'll suggest some sites and flavour to tempt you.
I've got more juice than most shops maybe around 20-25 litres to keep me going. There's never too much lol
