What's new

New vendor wanting to say hello!

As a mod

I would like to point out this thread has been reported more times than any other in recent history - slacken off lads, this is a new guy trying to set up a new business - and wether he shows any cleanroom picture or not, he is breaking no laws by not doing so. No cleanroom is required by law for 0mg, nor is any testing.

Now I know a lot of 0mg guys are now getting their juices tested and making in Cleanroom or Laminar flow environments , but I cant think of many that have done it off the bat. Most have run their companies for awhile to build up cash before they can do that. In fact .. im not sure I can think of any. Most have bought out a few juices to build up funds before going down a more linear process route.

we have all been there.

seriously .. the industry is pretty much on its arse at the minute, id desperately like to see vendors and users alike coming together to try to combat the shit storms that get thrown at us on a regular basis .. not brawl amongst ourselves about things that are not even a required legal thing.

Good point, stifling new vendors cuts down the number of new suppliers.
This leaves a few major players, who can sell at virtually what price they like, as there is no competition.
More suppliers = more competitive pricing = good news for consumers.

As far as I know there was far less worry about testing, clean rooms, etc before the TPD regs............

I think there is less concern now actually, these days it seems everyone just wants as big a bottle as possible for as little as possible, regardless of its production - at least that’s what Facebook groups would lead you to believe!

I'm not sure that's true, especially after some horror stories about where some liquids were being made, there was a big scandal not long after I started vaping. shit being thrown together in filthy conditions with stuff dumped all over the place.... photo's all over the internet. A lot of us actually thought that e-liquid manufacturing needed to be checked and regulated .... much in the same way that food prep areas are.

I have also worked in some food plants as well.
Not pretty either.

Iv'e seen ice cream growing on an overhead conveyor, it goes all brown, and hairy when it grows..........

Cook chill ready meals from the supermarkets, you wouldn't want to know about what goes on in those factories.

you say that, but honestly I'm the kind of person that would want to know. :D .... since I stopped smoking I've pretty much cut out all processed foods too and I cook 90% of our meals from scratch, I think that's done as much good for my health as stopping smoking. I was sick of eating junk. .... I threw the microwave out too, lol. ... Mrs is always moaning when her coffee goes cold. :)

= Agree entirely. We’re on a very similar dietry regime. Avoid processed food as much as possible, even supermarket vegetables are fillled with pesticides/ hormones/ gm/ etc. Far healthier now, hardly even had a cold for the last 3 yrs.

Welcome to the forum.

Have to be honest, I find "Agent Orange" a bit tastless, if you'll excuse the pun.

EDIT: Oh, he's already left? That didn't take long. No discount then?:28:

On a more serious note; Unfortunately, the likes of scumbags like Josh Malone make people instinctively suspicious. Claiming to be a legit business in an industrial estate and really running things from daddy's spare bedroom and kitchen. So I get why people ask tough questions. Coz they wanna know what they're buying and who they're buying from. But I equally get everyone has to start somewhere. So it's finding a balance. Honesty is everything. But ditching the conversation and running for cover when things get a bit tough doesn't look good to me personally. Especially before posting the discount. :D

No he's not left mate, I don't think he could have asked for better publicity to be honest :D Hopefully a few people have put an order in. I hope he sticks around and doesn't feel like he has been bullied off the site, that would make me sad.

I agree with what @ZT said in terms of the industry being in one hell of a hole so the last thing we want to be doing is help to split the industry apart by infighting. It happened around the time of TPD in terms of people suggesting we should snitch on non-compliant vendors. Personally I don't think we should do it and unless there are serious safety concerns (NDB for example) then we don't need to be hanging people out to dry or hassling them for a perceived wrong doing.

Along with ready meals, when you go up the bigger production scale I am sure that there are some people who appear very shiny on the outside whose manufacturing processes might leave much to be desired. There are probably many small manufacturers who are clean as a whistle but have no proper clean room set up.

I have posted before about what a hole the industry is on. EU law brought in to protect consumers has limited the supply to 10ml bottles but left a glaring hole for the short fills which has allowed anyone to mix and sell again. I am not sure that there will be any change to this for a good year or two, regulation moves slowly and with Brexit sucking away officials' time then I just don't see how they will pass a new clause quickly. Especially as it is within the bounds of the EU law they wanted implemented.

The trouble with all of the TPD is it brings in stupid regulation that does nothing to protect the consumer, just a bunch of arbitrary rules which disrupted a healthy industry. The current 10ml bottles and testing does not bring any consumer safety, no-one back checks test results and no juices are refused due to high levels of things that could present a danger to vapers. As Paul Calf would say, it's a bag of shite.
