I got a freebie of some thin ish (0.2 mm) nichrome wire.

Am I ok claptoning that around (say) some 0.4 mm kanthal? If so, how would it compare to a kanthal - kanthal Clapton?

Some folks say the NiChrome has a different taste, but I with 1 taste bud left, didna notice any difference.

The 0.2mm NC should give a slightly lower ohm reading than you expect, but don't quote me on that. Me no remember what it did to my last K/NC Clapton...

I was going to find a home for it in a mutation x v3. I suspect a dual might be a bit nuts. I tried. 2x 0.5 mm kanthal twist in there dual coiled and it was way too much for me.

Made a job lot of Clapton wire. Bloody stuff keeps snapping when I pulse it :-/ it also doesn't seem to want to heat up evenly.

I suspect I've ballsed it up.
