Nicotine strength?

I didn't smoke heavily so started on 12mg and stick to somewhere between 6 and 12mg now. I like to vape a lot and this suits me fine.

I would go up a bit in nic strength, as others have said, if you are finding you are still having cravings.

Agree with Gonloopy on ditching the patches though.

Ditto on ditching the patches. I was a pretty heavy smoker and had failed to stop with most NRT methods. Started vaping on 18mg cigalikes and chain vaped but soon eased back whenI got my first ego and 24mg juice. Now 5 months in and on 18mg home made but I do hit the dripper hard if I have a drink.

It is trial and error. I started on 18mg but like others have said I vape a lot and was getting headaches. I went to 12mg and that worked for me. Your body adjusts to that and now I am getting down to 8mg as I do vape a lot more that I did when smoking and am not getting the headaches. A lot of good advice from the others and I agree, get rid of the patches and go with a higher strength and vape more often. If headaches kick in then start reducing. Stick with it as it is worth it. Good luck

I started at 24mg which was great for during the day when I was out and about, only vaping when I would have normally had a stinky.
I found that I was chain vaping in the evening or when not busy so cut down to 12mg.
Now I have e-liquids ranging from 6mg to 24mg, but I have not found my ADV (all day vape) and like to change flavours constantly :)
Great advice already given, follow what your body tells you ;)

I started in 18 and it didn't hit the spot for me, then I went to 24 and that was fine, I came down from 24 to 18 again as soon as I started using better equipment.

In hindsight I wasn't vaping very well I was taking shorter sharper drags, sometimes lung inhales on my cig-a-like and as a result it was't getting much of the nicotine in the liquid into my system. I upgraded to a Lavatube and a vivi nova and immediately started getting nic headaches.

So if you're using a cig-a-like then definitely get higher strength liquids it might be 24mg/ml liquid but you're not really getting all of that 24mg/ml to start with.

also as other people have said your body will let you know when you've had enough. If you start getting a headache - that's one of the first signs that you've taken in too much nicotine either switch to a lower strength juice or vape a little less often.

Another thing is if you've just switched totally from smoking to vaping then the way the nicotine is delivered to your body is different and it can take a few days for your brain to adjust and the new habit to feel "normal" to you.

One good trick is to have a clearo/tank with the high strength e-liquid in and one with your normal vape in. If you feel you need more of a hit have a vape on the high strength stuff for a while then switch to the lower stuff again a little later.
