Nicotine strength

Depends how high your wattage will be. Most 'subohmers' would probably be max 6mg, with many at 3mg or even less. However there are no hard and fast rules. It's a case of suck it and see.
 
If u start to feel icky, or sick, maybe sweaty, or just like u need to go lie down that means u r getting too much nicotine

Just put the vape down for a while, and go a little easier on it

(Edit-it will be a slightly different and much longer lasting feeling than that icky nicotine 'buzz' u get when first smoking, except no buzz and way more ick)

I use 12mg nic salts in sub ohm at 45w. Find anything above 50 is a bit much though.

It's all about your personal tolerance. I know a lot of folks would get sick at that level and at those wattages.

MTL I can go up to about 36mg with the salts but usually stick at 24.
 
I personally find anything between 4 and 6mg can induce a coughing fit and 7mg plus i pop out a lung, both normally end up with me having a headache and feeling a bit woozy. Probably due to me being on 1.5mg most of the time now.
The caveat being i have no idea if it would be better with nic salts.

It would be smoother, less coughing, but at least anecdotally, less healthy, just more chemicals.

It depends on a few things. What level of power - a 30w vape is not as intense as a 100w vape for example. And personal tolerance to nicotine, which can vary massively between individuals. Most shortfills are designed to be mixed to 3mg or just over 3mg (if using a 20mg nic shot) but there’s no set rule, you just have to experiment a bit to find what works for you. As a general rule, when u first quit, for about 2 or 3 weeks no amount of nicotine will be enough, u r still craving the cigarette itself, not the nic. If u can make it thru that initial dropping of a physical habit, u will have a better idea of what u need.

If u start to crave for cigs, add more nic, if u start to feel icky, add less nic or vape less
