Hello guys,
Got myself a noisy cricket about 2 weeks back and it's been awesome aside from I have had to rebuild rather than rewick when my coils get gunked.
Now 2 weeks on its not hitting any where near as hard as it used to, tried a few pairs of batteries and it's all the same. I have noticed the threads have some black stuff on.
Any ideas to what's going on?
Cheers

Yep, get them threads cleaned and it'll be good as new. Because the threads are part of the circuit having crap on them is a barrier for the current to pass through.

Got any tips on cleaning threads mate? Never really had to bother with any of my other mechs in the past

Really? And you didn't notice the same performance drop off?

Get some handwipes ( the alcohol based ones are the thing, but any will do) and swab away on all the threads and swab out the battery tubes whilst you are at it.
You'll be best doing this every few days to keep things shipshape.

Never noticed a drop in performance with any of my other mods, I usually use very fine wire wool to clean them

Fair enough, tho' wouldn't advise using that too often on the threads of your kit.

Oh, and take the switch on the NC apart and swab that out as well.
Just don't - DON'T - lose the spring in the carpet!!

The really fine stuff takes off such a tiny amount of material it would take a long time before the threads started to be affected.
