First TV smoking advert in 49 years will be broadcast tonight showing someone using an e-cigarette | Daily Mail Online

I say oh dear as I have tried a couple of products of theirs and they were truly awful.
A couple of my friends were duped into spending a fortune on batteries and tanks that cracked very quickly, my worry is that people will see this advert, rush out and buy only to find a truly rubbish product and go back to smoking as "These things just don't work"

Worse than that, can ecigs get passed the tacky bullshit sub90's laddite stage of everything being a cheeky allusion to some woman on the verge of giving the target audience a fucking blowjob.
It's the equivalent of saying that all vapers are basement-dwelling males with no personal hygiene and small penises, whereas there are many female vapers with no personal hygiene and small penises. And beards.

According to the Daily Fail article,it shows a woman exhaling vapour yet the actual advert they reproduce shows the woman doing fuck all bar grope her thigh.

Don't know why but I'm past the stage of giving a shit whether smokers find vaping ridiculous, risky, sexy, cheaper, unhealthy, whatever. If they can't be bothered to look at vaping for more than 5 minutes, FUCM.
I'm so bored of explaining and justifying vaping to people ... they feign interest but most will have closed minds already. When a smoker shows genuine interest I'll spare the time to explain it but I refuse to be an advocate any more, let alone an evangelist. People can think whatever they want, life's too short to suffer fools and ignorance.

Much as it pains me to say it I am feeling exactly the same these days.
I have done the whole advocacy/evangelism thing. I have signed petitions, written to MP`s/MEP`s etc. etc. etc. and I am afraid I feel like I`m just beating my head against a brick wall.
I`m tired of it.
I have more than done my part for "the cause" but I`m worn down with all the mass-media bullshit and the sheep who lap it up.

I`ve given away loads of gear and juice to people who then complain that it`s "too much hassle".
If people want to keep smoking, that`s up to them. If they want to vape, great but that`s also up to them.
If people can`t be bothered to look beyond what the mainstream media tell them then that`s their look-out.
I will still help and assist anyone who shows a genuine interest in it but other than that I`m done with the Political/Media bullshit side of it.

I`m self-sufficient to the point where, frankly, a total ban tomorrow would have no impact on me at all.
I can carry on vaping just as I do today for the next 40+ years.
