What's new

Oh Dear - VIP CIG Advert to be shown tonight.

Personally, although I'm not sure advertising is required, this wasn't as bad as I'd expected...
(FlameWall Deployed)

The KiK ad is clearly inline with advertising restrictions, promoting the idea that smokers have the option to swap to vaping. Yes it's cringe worthy, but regulations demand that advertisers show only people over 25 vaping (and I don't think anyone in that ad was shown vaping), cannot suggest that it's an aspirational activity or lifestyle choice which would increase your social status or attractiveness, as smoking is perceived to.

Is this really so bad? (Flamewall magnetically sealed & re-inforced with phased plasma gunturrets, or some sh*t)

Yes the tone is patronising & apologetic (poor smokers, set free by the wonder of poor quality e-cigs, ahh, look at their little faces, it's almost as if they understand ;)) and a bit lame, but it's not the abstract Guinesss ad style patent bumguff I was expecting, interesting that an open tank system is advertised too, thought this was something the MHRA was targeting.

Apparently we can look forward to watching an entire human female woman exhale vapour later tonight too (not sure I'll be able to contain myself, I may spontaneously self-ejaculate).

All genius requires a touch of madness my friend. I have minimal thoughts on the matter discussed really, I really don't think it'll affect that many people. Most who have considered vaping are already or won't be swayed by a tv advert.

The cost of placing an advert on a mainstream tv channel at that time of night would beg to differ. The question is did they spend their money wisely? Or did they spend any money at all?

To quote an American fella with a beard 'Smoking is dead, vaping IS the future ------and the future is NOW'

Big money to be made here if you get it right and we all know what money is

Thank you for your kind words though

Oh dear, I missed it as was busy trying to watch BBC 2 instead. Now I'll be able to visit people and not be subjected to a barrage of idiotic questions like "they can drown you can't they?"or didn't they find antifreeze in those things etc etc. Now it will be "that looks nothing like the 1 they advertised the other night " which will elicit the response "that's because this is nothing like as shit "

If the advert gets shown during something I'm watching, it won't be discussed as I won't be able to hear the fucking programme I'm trying to watch, so will you all stfu?

I was in a local garage earlier than this adverts screening, and was tempted to thump the owner round the head with my box mod as he instantly blurted out something about the dangers of vaping being worse than smoking and then told me he didn't care as he has never smoked/vaped or felt the need to. Grrrrrrr

was aired during first break of branchester last night it showed the brunette inhale and exhale vape i can uploaded it if someone shows me how to on I phone

Surely sexy advertising is a good thing?

It might cause the antz to have a massive debilitating stroke or heart attack at the sheer lunacy of people openly not smoking on tv at a time when children should be in bed. I live in hope that mckaven and mcphee end up suffering locked in syndrome tbh.

My favourite E-Cig advert so far is the one where Eva Green basically fellates an Ego stick, maintaining full eye contact throughout, until a torrent of white flows out of her mouth, filling the screen. It then fades to leave a single line of text - Vape.
