Please forgive my ignorance here !!!

Weird one here (well for me you might know the answer straight away)

I bought some snake oil liquid and LOVE it. anyway I've run through about 25ml of the 30ml bottle in just over a week and needed to change the wick etc as it was tasting weird. The coil that was in the protank was rated at 2.5ohm and the one I've put in is rated at 1.8 ohm when I tried to make my own mico coils with cotton wool they worked out at 0.7 ohm and IIRC won't work on a vamo as 1.2 ohm is the minimum but think thats me buying the wrong gauge wire.

Anyway back to my problem on the 2.5 ohm wick/coil running at 9w I got a lovely sweet taste then the aniseed from the snake oil which was great. now I have a lower ohm wick/coil the taste is totally different. I no longer get the sweet taste and the aniseed is kinda weak. Is it possible it's not wicking correctly i've removed the single strand of wick sitting on the coil and it improved slightly and no flooding ... yet (i don't have any spares to try) or am I starting to get vapers mouth.

I have found that some coils have a 'break in period' of a couple of mls before they start tasting good :)

Assuming you're using a mechanical mod or similar (as a Vamo for example in RMS mode won't care what ohm it's at) the taste of the juice will be VERY different. The long answer is 'ohms law' but the short answer is that the lower the ohms the hotter the coil and that will 'cook' the juice.

So without knowing 'exactly' what you're tooting on I'd say that what you've described is normal. Use a higher ohm coil and the flavour will be back to what it used to be.

Totally bummed :(

Can't taste anything now so I guess it's not the juice or wicks :(

Been reading up loosing taste can go hand in hand with giving up tobacco. Fingers crossed won't last long ..
