Can anyone help me I keep making coils that are coming up at like 3-2.7 ohms how do I get a lower resistance?

What wire are you using and how many wraps and size ? I do 9 wraps microcoil 1.5mm .25 kanthal which is usually about 1.6-1.7 ohms

hi x
well there is diffrent ways to lower ohms , but a general rule is the thicker the wire the less ohms per meter. i.e if you are useing the same thing/like screwdriver to wrap coils on then 5 wraps of 0.2 mm wire will be hire resitsance than 5 wraps of 0.32 , so a thicker wire will lower ohms x or you could wrap your coil around something thinner , or do less wraps of wire x
hope that helps x

I tend to use .32mm 28 gauge wrapped 8 times around a 2mm drill bit. This gives me about 1.2 ohms.
If you were to use .28mm, 8 wraps would be about 1.5ohms.
This is just rough but I'd imagine you are using 0.2mm and doing about 8 to 10 wraps or less if the drill is bigger.
Less thickness gives more resistance so with less wraps, smaller wraps or thicker kanthal will get the ohms down.

Well I'm using 20mm wrapping it 8 times round a syringe needle so you think less wraps or thicker wire?

0.2mm.
Thicker wire would be better but seeing as though you've got 0.2mm, have you considered using some to make a twisted wire? Its easier than you think and will thicken up your existing wire until your thicker stuff arrives.
I'd suggest 0.28 and 0.32mm.

Yeah I watched that ripp guy and he was making the micro coils with 0.2mm but he was using he's on a vw device I'll try the twisted one any good youtubers who have made vids on it?

I followed rip tripper with 28 gauge doing a microcoil with 10 wraps and it comes up with a 1.8 ohms on svd hope this helps
