So after using the Orchid v4 for a while i have decided that it has a special black hole that juice disappears into. This thing drinks juice like nothing i've ever used before, dual coils @ 0.8ohms and i'm filling the thing up 3+ times a day! Not that it really bothers me but it's a right twat to fill at the best of times :) Anyone else noticed it's thirsty?

Crazy thirsty.

A tank lasts me 15 mins.

I tend to use it for my less favourite juices as the flavour isn't as refined as some of my other atties and I go through the juice like no tomorrow.

Do love the orchid but it's sub par for flavour IMO and is one thirsty bugger :)

crazy thirsty, I wouldn't use it for prime juice. If you are looking for a bigger capacity though have a look here, all sorts of ideas for tweaking the Orchid.

I run my orchids between 1 and 1.4 ohms. You sacrifice some clouds on a mech, but the flavour is there in spades once the coil beds in

0.8 ohms on my orchid too.. and afrodiziac in it damn near killed me. though anyone who believes the taek can hold 4ml has got to be kidding. i swear i can barely get more than 2 in mine the size of the chimney is a joke.
oh and japanese cotton in it too... gonna have to put it through the ultrasonic cleaner about 20 x to get rid of afro and need new tank as it cracked it as well.. bastard stuff

Thanks, i might have to have a look at some of that as i like the Orchid but it could do with some refinements.

That stuffs definitely like marmite, some days i love it and others i hate it. I also dispute the amount of juice that it can hold, seem to be re-filling it rather too often for 4ml, gonna fill by syringe next time.

***UPDATE*** After a quick experiment that involved re-filling with a syringe i can confirm that the Orchid v4 does not hold 4ml but rather barely 3ml and that was at a push.

Am finding the same, barely able to get 3ml in which is not enough given it's so thirsty. I run 0.8-1.0ohm builds with muji.
Very cloudy but lower on flavour which I find does improve with a narrower bore drip tip ... think the narrowing really needs to happen in the chimney section though.

I have one v4 running standard and a second with a Kayfun top fill cap and part of a nano tank section ... a v3.5 if you like. But refilling slowly from the bottom works best so the top fill caps might yet be abandoned.

I've not tried running single coil which might help juice last longer ... surprised me to hear DakotaMai running it in single coil mode without leaks ... she's a magician of some sort, I swear.

Despite all the fettling fun and games, I'm loving the Orchid v4. It's real bang for your buck.

Its going through juice faster than my ole nan used to go through Gin....

But gigglesome clouds so who gives a flying fuck.

You really need a tighter draw and 1ohm+ to get the best flavour from the Orchid.

When coiling make bigger bore coils (2.5-3mm) to allow for more wicking material, seat those coils as close to the air holes as you dare without them touching the deck, finally get a tighter (smaller bore) drip tip and you'll love the flavour
