I've just come across this little gem.

I'm sure that we could reassure the nice man that it's OK and we never have planned on buying our vaping supplies from pharmacies, chemists or anywhere else of that ilk - it's what vape shops are for ...

So lets get this right many (including my own) doctors see the value of e-cigs, but the pharmasist knows better, sounds like another case of sour grape's to me,failed doctor syndrome ;)

I'm seeing this slightly differently, I think this is isn't a bad thing really as he is saying what weve been saying for a while-these are not medicines! Whilst being a way for people to find vaping in the first place, we don't want vaping to fall in to the hands of pharma so buying them in pharmacies is a tad hypocritical. Whilst I don't agree with the old "haven't been tested, don't know what's in them" chestnut, the actual stance is something that I sort of agree with.

If he wants to lose out on sales then let him get on with it... I'm sure there'll be somewhere else in that area that at least sells cigalikes.

As someone who used to run my own shop it sounds reasonable for any individual proprietor to stock or not stock a product. Some of my customers would have liked me to sell ornaments with fairys on them.I did not want to encourage that sort of behavior so I let them go to my competitors. We all have to live by our principles .I also agree with purplefowlers comment'

everywhere else we have head pharmacist but this guy is a superintendent pharmacist "enough said" still it's a bit of free advertising for the new shop

I never want to see vaping devices sold through pharmacies under the current regime or under that devised by the TPD - whether we use them as smoking cessation products is our own individual choice, which I believe should not be regulated by Tobacco companies Big Pharma or Big Supp. The only things related to vaping that I'm happy to buy from a chemist are distilled water, VG and PG.

I really would prefer to buy my PVDs and associated accessories from a vaping shop/store where the staff themselves vape and have knowledge and experience of their stock. If the local corner shop decides to sell e-liquid and e-cigs, I'd really hope that they know what they are selling and that anyone who buys kit there makes sure of this, but fear that it is going to be mostly unlikely at present. For situations where vape gear or e-cigs are sold I believe that they should be age restricted.

Forgive me if I sound addled, not long had a seizure and my cognitive skills are not at their best.

Your doing fine :grin2:

Its not the best analogy but if I want to buy a gun I either go to a gun shop or the local guys in black coats in the dodgy house.......

Either way, I speak to people who know what they are selling. I do the same if ivwant a tv, parts for my car or anything else technical, I want to buy from peopke who know at least as much about it as I do and preferably more.

I also agree that I really dont want people to get the idea that ecigs are medical devices. Thet are not, they are simply a method for people to recreationally enjoy nicotine, or not if they choose not to, thats kind of the point, ecigs have no place being sold in pharmacies, unless they are one shot cig alikes, imo they have no place being sold in corner shops either, particularly given some of the crap we see and some of the crap advise.

Granted some vaping stores can give crap advise too, I friend of mine was told categorically to only charge his over priced ego alike with his computer :banghead: it took quite a bit to convince him that was best avoided "because thats what they told him in the shop" things like that will only get worse the more prolific vaping gets, its about the only place other than eluquid quality, that good regulation would be helpful rather than crippling.

Too bad the numpties in charge fail to grasp this simple premise.
