New here, my first post/ thread so go easy!!
So I have just purchased a shop in Portugal with the intention of opening a Vape shop. I just wondered if we had any Portuguese in here who vaped/ any of you who have run a business abroad and am looking for some advice.
Now as you may or may not know (excuse my ignorance, I am new to the forums), tax on nictoine products is 0.60 Euro per ml. Thus a 10ml bottle would mean 6.0 Euros of tax - which is madness.
There is a shop in Albufeira that still sell 10ml bottles for 4 Euros - in which case they simply can't be paying 6 Euros of tax as they'd be trading at a deficit.
Does anybody have an idea as to how they may be doing this or any ways around paying so much tax. This isn't tax avoidance, just ways to try and pay less.
One method we thought about was setting up a UK based company, yet operating our website from the shop in Portugal and all sales going through the website and customers effectively picking up their orders there and then.
Another method was to sell all products with zero nicotine, then giving free nictoine and mixing it into the products after the sale...... Yeah, not sure how legal that would be.
Any suggestions?
