Pro tank 2 mini broken?

Good afternoon ladies and gents on monday i decided to give my tank and all its parts a rinse as i could not use it for a few days(tooth extraction) so this morning at 10:30 i hit the all important 72hour mark post op.

I put the tank back together and loaded it up with juice i noticed there was some leakage, i figured it just wasn't tightened up enough but on closer inspection there seemed to be a half circle of plastic/ rubber hanging so i removed this and again screwed it back into place and another piece of rubber began to hang. to note at this point the wicks were glowing but nothing else was happening.

after i removed the second piece and tighten it again the leaking pretty much stopped (maybe some never had this problem before washing) the atomiser now vapes the liquid however not as much as before and it produces a slightly strange taste, like you sometimes you get with a shisha pipe if that helps.

All i did was rinse the components with warm water and use cotton buds and then left to airdry. I have ordered a replacement and i am asking the more experienced to point out if i did something wrong? and how to clean my tank?

N.B i have changed the coil as i thought maybe the water ruined the wick

Just to clarify, what rubber was hanging ?

Was the rubber rings white? They r ment to be in each end of your tank

Damaged O-ring, i suspect the one on the head (sits on the base,below the threads).

Yeah it was white and split in half only from one end though

There are two white o-rings to hold the glass tank and seal to stop leaks, found a picture
Is this where they were from?

Thank you for that, yeah so one of mine broke, im guessing that means its alot more likely to leak from that side? does water cause them to deteriorate? can you buy replacements by any chance?

There maybe proper vendors that sell them but found the above after a quick search.

I have never heard of water affecting them, I know some types of e-liquid can
Unfortunately I don't think there is anywhere that does offer replacements of these, mainly as they are flat (just took my one apart to check)

usually, if its the genuine protank mini 2, the box should have 2 spare o rings... u can use those
