Professor Dame Sally Davies lies on National TV

Still not received a response from my follow up last week yet, will give them another week and if there's still no response, I'll be complaining directly to the BBC trust.

If they decide to stonewall it'll be going up to the secretary for culture, media and sport.

I got an automated response saying it could take up to 20 working days for them to respond... Hopefully they'll take action before then but if not, I'll be following the same path as you!

My second complaint has been ignored this also no response yet from .gov

All this is leading up to the big okay ecigs are banned argument can see it comeing time to stock up on liquids lol

During the miners strikes, there was a battle between police and miners where the police had struck first, charging into the miners lines and putting the men on the defensive. Lots of rocks being hurled to try and stop them. Yet when it was broadcast on tv later it showed the miners hurling stuff at police, then police going in. Total reversal of what actually took place.

Dame sally cunt should be ashamed of herself. The bbc bullshit to cover her bullshit up and keep their stance intact isnt surprising. But anyone expecting the bbc to be anything but self serving and patronising shitheads may as well expect fox suddenly start delivering decent news. I applaud those of you trying to make them do the right thing, but i personally dont see them bending without actually being sued. They will wriggle and writhe like the slimy bastards they are proving themselves (again) to be.

My second complaint response

Dear Mr Freeborn

Reference CAS-3156150-XDJC70

Thank you for your further correspondence.

Dame Sally Davies was expressing her opinion – while appearing in her professional role as the government’s chief medical officer - and spoke about vaping in response to an open question from Gavin Esler. As she openly stated that “we don’t know the impact” of flavourings, we feel there was no need for Gavin to challenge her further and the interview returned to the main subject – smoking cigarettes in cars.

We understand and frequently reflect on air the opinions of those who support e-cigarettes – but in this instance it was not the main subject of discussion. I can also assure you that your concerns have been raised with the editor of the News Channel.

If you would like to take your complaint further, you can contact Stage 2 of the complaints process, the BBC's Editorial Complaints Unit, within 20 working days, and they will carry out an independent investigation. You can email them at: [email protected] , or alternatively write to them at the following address:

My old doctor was jailed for killing people (anyone remember Harold?), using her approach, doctors are all killers and should be jailed? Or maybe only doctors called harold?

Yep.

Got the exact same response.

Escalated my complaint, pointing out that if Ms Davies was merely expressing a 'personal opinion', why was it not emphasised as such, given that she was "appearing in her professional role as the government’s chief medical officer" and anything she said could be construed to be government sanctioned 'fact' to a casual, uniformed viewer?

Quoted the BBC's own editorial guidelines relating accuracy and impartiality BBC - Editorial Guidelines - Guidelines - Section 3: Accuracy - Introduction BBC - Editorial Guidelines - Guidelines - Section 4: Impartiality - Introduction , asked again for video to be removed, a clarification article on whether Ms Davies was expressing 'personal opinion' or trying to represent her opinion as government sanctioned and asked for an apology for allowing misrepresentation to the public and for continuing to allow it by not removing the video.

Won't accept being given the brush off on this, if needs be I'll be contacting culture media & sport.

I received my acknowledgement of my complaint to the department of health 10 days ago so hoping to hear something within the next 10 days. Probably be some bull reply for a wild guess

I also had the exact same response to my second complaint, so I'll be using that [email protected] address they've provided. Ridiculous they're trying to pass off an incorrect factual statement from a supposed expert as merely an opinion.

This is what I sent:

"I find it very hard to understand how Dame Sally Davies' statement of "Butterscotch had to be withdrawn because people got chronic lung disease" could be considered as a mere opinion and the fact that it wasn't the main subject of the discussion is irrelevant. It is quite clearly a factual statement and due to her position as the Chief Medial Officer, it is not unreasonable for the public to assume that she is knowledgeable in this area. The statement she made was totally incorrect and as I said in my last response, this has the potential to impact the health of the public. I would urge you to remove the video in the interest of public health."
